FIRST SERVE
- Off to its third 4-0 start under head coach Jason Mansfield, K-State sets out to Reno, Nevada to open the 2026 road schedule for a round-robin event, starting Friday, September 11.
- The Wildcats will face Weber State (4-1) in their weekend opener at 8 p.m. CT, before taking on tournament host Nevada (0-5) at 3 p.m. CT on Sunday.
- Both matches will be played at Virginia Street Gym.

K-STATE AT A GLANCE
- K-State (4-0) extending its winning streak to four after sweeping through the Wildcat Classic last weekend.
- The Wildcats defeated CSUN in three (28-26, 25-18, 25-23) before downing Drake (25-17, 25-13, 25-20) to take the tournament crown.
- Addison Massey was named the tournament MVP after leading the offense with 25 kills (4.17/set) and hit at a .300 clip to go with 15 digs.
- Fuka Sekita, Emerson Van Lannen and Reagan Fox joined Massey on the All-Tournament Team.
- K-State registered a .276 team efficiency, averaging 16 kills per set and tallying 11 service aces.
- Defensively, K-State tallied 16 digs per set and out-blocked opponents 2.17-2.00, led by five from Cadence Lundgren.
- Fox followed Massey with 21 kills (3.50/set) and hit at a team-high .444 clip with four blocks.
- Senior transfer Fuka Sekita set a three-set program record, totaling 24 digs – the most ever recorded in a three-set match in the rally-scoring era.
- K-State is 21-22 on the road in the Mansfield era, that includes a 7-2 record at neutral sites.
A FRIDAY NIGHT VICTORY WOULD…
- Be the team's first road-opening win since 203 (vs. Portland State).
- Hand K-State it's fifth consecutive victory, marking the first 5-0 start since 2022.
- Two wins this weekend would be the 50th victory under head coach Jason Mansfield.
- If the Cats win both matches in Reno, it would be the first 6-0 start since 2013.
SCOUTING WEBER STATE
- After splitting a pair of matches at Cal State Bakersfield, Weber State is off to a 4-1 start under 12th-year head coach Jeremiah Larsen, after opening the season with four straight wins.
- The Wildcats rallied for a 3-1 victory over Cal State Bakersfield on Friday before falling in five sets to the Roadrunners.
- Weber State hit .314 and recorded 51 kills, 11 blocks and 11 service aces in Friday's win before battling back from a two-set deficit Saturday and ultimately falling in five sets.
- Rose Moore led the Wildcats offensively in Friday's match with 16 kills while hitting .263, while adding 14 kills and hit .106 in Saturday's game.
- As a team, Weber State is hitting .257, averaging 11.86 kills per set, 11 assists, 11.76 digs, and 2.48 blocks.
- WSU has 38 total service aces led by 10 from Ziya Munyer.
- K-State leads the all-time series, 3-1, dating back to September 3, 1999 (K-State 3, WSU 0).
- Friday's match marks the first meeting since September 17, 2021 (K-State 3, WSU 1).
- All five meetings in the series history have been at neutral locations.
SCOUTING NEVADA
- Nevada (0-5) will return to Virginia Street Gym for the first time this season, looking to bounce back from three road games in Sacramento, two of which ended in five-set losses.
- Paige Thies is coming off a strong performance in the Sacramento State Invitational of 43 total kills and 31 digs, earning a spot on the all-tournament team.
- Theis is the only player averaging over two kills per set (3.29) and leads the Pack with 69 total kills.
- Over five matches, Nevada's offense is hitting .157 and averaging 9.19 kills per set, while the defense turns in 13.00 digs and 1.95 blocks.
- Despite an 0-5 record, Nevada has taken opponents to five sets in three.
- Sunday's match marks the second meeting between the Wildcats and Wolfpack, after K-State recorded a three-set victory at Morgan Family Arena last season.
RECORD BREAKER
- Fuka Sekita spearheaded a K-State defense that held opponents to a .167 hitting percentage en route to earning Wildcat Classic All-Tournament Team honors.
- The senior libero recorded 34 digs (5.83 per set) over the weekend, highlighted by a career-high 24 digs in the tournament opener, including 13 in the third set.
- Her 24 digs set a school record for the most in a three-set match during the rally-scoring era, surpassing the previous mark of 23 set in 2007 and 2019.
- Sekita also recorded her 400th career NCAA dig, reaching the milestone with her 14th dig of the night.
- Her 4.38 digs per set this season rank third in the Big 12, while K-State leads the league with 14.00 digs per set and ranks fifth with a .158 opponent hitting percentage.
ROOKIE YEAR
- Addison Massey led the K-State offense over the weekend with 25 kills (4.17 per set) en route to earning tournament MVP honors at the Wildcat Classic.
- She recorded her third consecutive match with double-digit kills, including a season-high 16 against CSUN in the tournament opener.
- She turned in 15 digs (2.50 per set), two blocks and two service aces over the two-day event.
- Massey also totaled a team-leading 28.5 points on the weekend and currently ranks seventh in the Big 12 in points per set (4.58).
DISH IT OUT
- Emerson Van Lannen paced a K-State offense that hit .276 over the weekend, dishing out 48 assists (8.00 per set) en route to earning All-Tournament honors at the Wildcat Classic.
- She also produced a weekend-high four service aces and continues to lead the Big 12 in aces per set (0.85), while ranking third in the league in total aces (11).
- Van Lannen finished second on the team with 16 digs (2.67 per set) and added four kills. K-State's .275 hitting percentage this season ranks fourth in the Big 12.
IMMEDIATE IMPACT
- With a roster that features eight newcomers, a first-year Wildcat leads the team in kills (49), kills per set (3.77), points (59.5) and points per set (4.58).
- Massey has led the team in kills in three of four matches – all 10-kill performances – that includes a season-high 16 against CSUN (Sept. 4).
- In four matches, transfer Fuka Sekita has led the team in digs in three, including a record-breaking 24 (Sept. 4).
- Three of the Cats' top five kill producers are newcomers, while two are true freshmen.
- Freshmen middle blockers Reese Resmer and Ellah Derrer are also sitting atop the leaderboard, as Resmer posts a team-high 1.17 blocks per set while Derrer has a team-leading .533 hitting percentage.
BIG 12 RANKINGS
- K-State is one of just two undefeated teams left in the Big 12, alongside Colorado (5-0).
- The Wildcats lead the Big 12 in digs per set (14.00), totaling 182 digs on the year.
- Offensively, the team sits third in aces per set (2.00), assists per set (12.85), and kills per set (14.08), while the Cats' .275 team hitting percentage ranks fifth.
- Individually, Fox's .444 hitting percentage is good for third in the conference, while Massey is in the Top 10 in kills per set (3.77) and points per set (4.58).
- Van Lannen leads the league in aces per set (0.85) and fourth in total aces (11).
- Sekita is second in the league in digs per set (4.38).
UP NEXT
- Following the tournament in Reno, K-State will head to Nebraska to face No. 15 Creighton (4-2) at D.J. Sokol Arena on September 18, before taking on Omaha (3-2) on September 19.
- Friday's match against the Bluejays will be nationally televised on ESPN2, slated for a 7 p.m. CT first serve.
BIG 12 NOTES – WEEK 3
- The Big 12 has six teams in the AVCA/TARAFLEX Division I Women's Volleyball Poll for the third consecutive week, the second most among all Conferences – Arizona State (No. 7), TCU (No. 11), Baylor (No. 20), Kansas (No. 22), Colorado (No. 23) and BYU (No. 25).
- Iowa State received votes.
- Big 12 teams will play six ranked opponents in Week 3.
- TCU's Becca Kelley (offensive), Alice Volpe (defensive), Rosemary Archer (setter) and Kinsley Young (rookie) were recognized as the Big 12 Volleyball weekly award winners for the second week of the 2026 season.
- Cincinnati's Kate Lijic, Colorado's Ana Burilovic and West Virginia's Mirjam Kask joined Archer, Kelley, Volpe and Young on the Big 12 Volleyball Starting Seven for Week 2.
- Two Big 12 programs remain undefeated heading into Week Three: Colorado (6-0) and Kansas State (4-0).
- Nine Big 12 teams have dropped six sets or fewer through the first two weeks of the season.
