RENO, Nev. – Kansas State volleyball stretched its winning streak to five Friday night, as the Wildcats captured a four-set victory over Weber State, 25-16, 25-19, 25-27, 25-18, at Virginia Street Gym in the first road contest of the season.

With the win, K-State turns in its longest winning streak under fourth-year head coach Jason Mansfield and the program's first 5-0 start since 2022. Weber State suffered its second loss of the season, moving to 5-2 on the year.

K-State had three players reach the 10-kill mark, as Addison Massey turned in a match-leading 17 kills, followed by 15 from Skylar Brady and 10 by Ellah Derrer. It is the first match with multiple players reaching double-digit kills this season.

"Gritty road win against a very well coached team tonight. Defense played great against a really good balanced offensive team, to out dig them by 17 is what we have to do in matches like this. Our offense got enough kills in each set to give us some separation and I thought Emerson [Van Lannen] and Camdyn [Stucky] set a really good match but we made too many attacking errors to feel good about tonight's performance overall. We'll learn from it and grow for it, it's always good to figure out how to win when things aren't going well."

SET-BY-SET
Set 1 – K-State 25, Weber State 16

K-State utilized a 6-0 scoring run to overcome a three-point deficit, 7-4, highlighted by four straight kills from Avery Stones, Emerson Van Lannen, Addison Massey and Reagan Fox.
With back-to-back service aces from Van Lannen, the Wildcats stretched their lead, 19-13, forcing a timeout from WSU.
The Cats put together a 6-2 closing run to take Set 1 with Camdyn Stucky registering set-point with her third service ace of the season.
K-State hit at a .235 clip (14 kills, 6 errors, 34 swings), with six players contributing a kill, while the defense held WSU to a .000 hitting percentage with only five kills behind 19 digs and four blocks.

Set 2 – K-State 25, Weber State 19

Down 5-3, K-State scored seven of the next nine points to take a four-point lead, led by a pair of kills from freshman Skylar Brady.
Weber State managed to bring the set within three after a pair of K-State attack errors.
K-State put down 16 kills in Set 2 for a .194 team efficiency, paced by six assists from Van Lannen.
Set 2 featured three tie scores and two lead changes.

Set 3 – Weber State 27, K-State 25

With a solo block by Reese Resmer, K-State took its first lead of the set but was answered with a 5-0 scoring run from Weber State.
Trailing 14-10, Massey connected on passes from Stucky and Van Lannen to bring the set within two.
Facing its largest deficit of the match, 17-12, K-State scored five of six with Massey and Brady recording two kills apiece to force a timeout from Weber State.
K-State won a crucial challenge that overturned the point in favor of the Wildcats and tied the set, 18-18.
K-State avoided set-point with a kill from Sydney Maue to level the score 25-25 but was answered with consecutive kills from Rose Moore to hand WSU the set win.
Weber State hit a match-high .306 clip with 15 kills on 36 swings with four errors.
There were nine tie scores and four lead changes in Set 3.

Set 4 – K-State 25, Weber State 18

Tied 6-6, K-State went on to score five consecutive points led by a kill from Ellah Derrer.
K-State continued to build its advantage, pushing ahead 17-10 on back-to-back kills from Brady before Weber State trimmed the margin to 17-12.
The Wildcats responded with another three-point stretch, and eventually closed out the set, 25-18, on Brady's fifth kill of the frame.
Brady led the set with five kills followed by Massey with four.

INSIDE THE BOX

K-State defeated Weber State in four sets – 25-16, 25-19, 25-27, 25-18.
The Cats recorded 62 kills on 150 attempts with 31 errors for a .207 hitting percentage, while WSU hit .149 with 38 kills (20 errors, 121 attempts).
Nine K-State players contributed a kill, while 11 of 12 had a dig.
Massey totaled a match-high 17 kills.
Brady hit at a team-high .370 with 15 kills, while Derrer added 10.
Stucky and Van Lannen combined for 50 assists.
The Cats held a 9-3 advantage in service aces, led by three from Van Lannen.
Defensively, K-State had a 57-40 lead in total digs while WSU out-blocked the Cats, 15-9.
Sekita totaled 18 digs to go with five assists and one ace.
Six different players had a block with Massey and Lundgren each tallying two solo stops.
Match starters: Ponn, Fox, Van Lannen, Massey, Lundgren, Derrer, and Sekita.
The match totaled 19 tie scores and nine lead changes.

TEAM NOTES

K-State leads the all-time series 4-1 with Weber State.
K-State won 10 consecutive sets from August 30-September 11, marking the longest set-win streak since last season where K-State won 12 straight to start off the year.
The team's 10-set win streak is the second longest in the Mansfield era.
This season, K-State has outscored opponents 424-321 and held team's to a .156 hitting percentage.
Under Mansfield, K-State is 21-12 in non-conference matchups, including a 9-1 record over the last 10 contests.
Through five matches, K-State has dropped just two sets, posting a 15-2 advantage in set victories.
Friday's match marked the first match of the season with three K-State players registering 10 or more kills and first since October 10, 2025, vs. Iowa State.
Colorado and K-State remain the only two undefeated teams in the Big 12 Conference.

PLAYER NOTES

In five matches, Massey has eclipsed the 10-kill mark and led the team in kills in four.
Brady, Brady and Derrer each set career highs in kills and points.
It marked Brady and Derrer's first collegiate matches reaching double-digit kills.
Sekita has registered 10 or more digs in all five matches this season and ranks third in the Big 12 in digs per set (4.41).
Van Lannen turned in her fourth match with three or more service aces.
