WEST POINT, Miss. – The Kansas State men's golf team recorded a 36-hole score of 12-over par 588 on Monday as the Wildcats reside in 11th place at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship held at the par-72, 7,088-yard Old Waverly Golf Club.

K-State was in fifth place following a first-round score of 1-under par 287, but a 13-over par second round caused the Wildcats to slide six places down the leaderboard.

Junior Alex Lindstrom leads K-State as he is tied for 27th place at 1-over par 145. The Halmstad, Sweden, product came out firing in the first round with a score of 3-under par 69, matching his low round of the season he put together over the final 18 holes of last week's Tiger Intercollegiate.

After carding a 3-over par 75 in the first round, senior Nicklaus Mason rose eight spots on the leaderboard during the afternoon thanks to posting a score of even-par 72. The Shawnee, Kansas, product is tied for 40th place at 3-over par 147.

Senior Cooper Schultz and freshman Erik Sabelström Holmberg are tied for 52nd place at 7-over par 151. An eagle on the par-5 second hole highlighted Schultz's first-round score of 3-under par 69. It was his ninth round in the 60s this season and 32nd of his career, but he was unable to carry that momentum over to the second 18 holes.

Coming off an injury that sidelined him for last week's event, senior Kobe Valociek returned to the lineup and tallied identical scores of 4-over par 76 on Monday. He enters Tuesday's final round tied for 60th place at 8-over par 152.

Playing as an individual, senior Ian McCrary registered a second-round score of 2-under par 70 – his sixth under-par round of the year – to rise 21 spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 31st place at 2-over par 146.

Third-ranked Ole Miss holds a substantial lead at 40-under par 536, 25 shots better than host Mississippi State, which is in second place. The Rebels occupy each of the top three places on the individual leaderboard, including 36-hole leader Tom Fischer at 12-under par 132.
