K-State Invited to Compete in Oregon Team Invitational

Open events begin 2:50 p.m. on Friday, the Invite at 6 p.m. on Saturday
MANHATTAN, Kan. – The K-State track and field teams continue the outdoor season with an invite to the Oregon Team Invitational on Saturday (April 19) at Hayward Field in Eugene Ore. The team will also compete in the Oregon Open on Friday (April 18).
Other schools invited to compete in the Team Invitational on Saturday include Texas A&M, Wichita State, Oklahoma State, Oregon State and Utah. The invite can be streamed on the Big Ten Plus website or B1G+ app.
The Oregon Open will begin on Friday at 2:50 p.m. CT in the field events with the men's javelin. The women's 3,000 meter steeplechase starts on the track at 5:54 p.m. CT.
The Team Invite starts at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday with the women's discus, the women's 1,500 meters begins at 7:04 p.m. CT.
The Wildcats began the outdoor season in the KT Woodman Classic on April 11-12 in Wichita, Kan. 10 Cats won their events with three athletes earning a spot in the K-State all-time top-10.
Sophomore Riley Marx won the men's javelin throw with a distance of 70.83m (232' 4"), now no. 3 in the men's records. Junior Gary Moore Jr. threw a personal best in the men's hammer throw by 16 feet at 65.98m (216' 5"), now the no. 3 mark in the K-State record books. Junior Safhia Hinds won the women's 400 meter hurdles in 57.80 seconds, the no. 5 fastest time by a Wildcat.
