Cats Open Homestand Against Shockers Tuesday

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State begins a four-game homestand Tuesday night against Wichita State, as the in-state rivals complete a home-and-home midweek series at 6 p.m. at Tointon Family Stadium.
 
The Wildcats (23-17) look to snap a five-game losing streak, their longest of the season, with a season series sweep of the Shockers (12-27) after taking game one, 13-10, on April 2. Tuesday's tilt will mark the 106th meeting between the sides, with the Cats winning the last three contests.
 
Tanner Duke (1-2) will take the hill for K-State on Tuesday. Duke logged four innings of one-run ball in the season's first matchup against the Shockers, allowing two hits with four strikeouts.
 
The Cats have won 13 of their 14 games at home this season, marking the second-best home start in school history. In 2006, K-State started off its home slate with a program record 16-game winning streak.
