MANHATTAN, Kan.- The K-State women's tennis had four women named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team on Tuesday (May 13).
This is a consecutive honor for Veronika Kulhava and Maria Santos, the first for Charlotte Keitel and Tereza Polakova. Since the women's tennis addition to the CSC Academic All-America program in 2022-23, these four Wildcats have been selected.
The team was also part of K-State's school record of eight teams with perfect single-year academic progress rate (APR). The score measures the eligibility, retention and graduation of student-athletes.
Kulhava, a native of Letohrad, Czech Republic, is a 2025 graduate with a 4.00 GPA in psychology. Along with being named to two CSC Academic teams, Kulhava was named a 2024 ITA Scholar Athlete. A part of the Wildcats squad for two seasons, she collected a 33-23 singles record, 31-28 in doubles play.
Pursuing a degree in business with a 3.79 GPA, Santos was the most academically decorated on the team. Also earning consecutive ITA Scholar Athlete honors in 2023 and 2024, Santos was also named to the 2023 All-Big 12 Rookie team and 2024 All-Big 12 Team. A native of Cortegaça, Portugal, Santos spent three seasons earning a 31-29 singles record, going 8-8 in conference play.
A native of Bad Dürkheim, Germany, Keitel is also pursuing a business degree, with a 3.56 GPA. Named to a CSC Academic team for the first time, last year she earned nods as an ITA Scholar Athlete and to the Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team. For her efforts on the court she was added to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team in 2024. Over two seasons Keitel went 37-20 in singles action with a combined spring singles record of 20-14.
Working towards a kinesiology degree with a 3.62 GPA, Polakova earned similar academic accolades her freshman year, on the Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team and an ITA Scholar Athlete. Competing for two years, Polakova was 31-20 in singles, including 12-8 during fall tournament play.
