K-State Rowing Place 26 Women on Academic All-Big 12 Team

12 seniors were named while three women earned a 4.00 GPA
MANHATTAN, Kan. – The K-State women's rowing team earned 26 Academic All-Big 12 Team honors for the 2024-25 season as announced by the conference on Tuesday (August 5).

Of the 26 women named, 12 of them were academic seniors who graduated in May-- Madelyn Barrett, Jayden Brandt, Anna Guhr, Grace Hendrickson, Emma Johnson, Madison Koller, Gracyn McClain, Kay Pakkebier, Symone Simmons, Makenzie Storm, Kyla Traub and Bianca Wollmeister. Most of the seniors were named to the Academic team for the second or third time in their career.

Three women— Grace Hall, Guhr and Koller all earned 4.00 GPAs, a consecutive accomplishment for Hall and Koller.

With the retirement of former head coach Patrick Sweeney, he concluded his tenure with 377 instances of Wildcats named Academic All-Big 12 since 2012.

With five women's rowing teams in the conference, 132 student-athletes were nominated from UCF, Kansas, West Virginia and affiliate team Tulsa.

To qualify, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.20 GPA either cumulative or over two previous semesters and must have participated in 20% of their team's scheduled events. Seniors who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
