Wildcats Tie for 11th at Mossy Oak Collegiate

WEST POINT, Miss. – The Kansas State men's golf team fell three spots during Tuesday's final round as the Wildcats tied for 11th place in the Mossy Oak Collegiate held at the par-72, 7,212-yard Mossy Oak Golf Club.
K-State recorded a final-round total of 15-over par 303, finishing with a 54-hole score of 23-over par 887 as the Wildcats tied with Memphis.
"We are obviously disappointed in how we played today," head coach Grant Robbins said. "We really struggled with our ball striking this week, and it caught up with us on the back 9 today. This course demands precision – especially on the approach shots – and we did not execute consistently enough. We will get back and look closely at the areas we need to improve on and get to work. This is a resilient group, and I know they will learn from this and have a strong performance at Big 12s."
The Wildcats were led by senior Alex Lindstrom, who tied for 18th place at even-par 216, one of 22 competitors in the 104-man field to finish at even par or better. The Stockholm, Sweden, native hung on for his fifth top-20 finish this season – and third straight – after a final-round total of 1-over par 73 that featured five birdies, including one on the final hole of the event.
"I thought Alex had a solid tournament," Robbins said. "He has been pretty consistent all year, and it was good to see him get another top-20 finish."
K-State's round of the day was produced by senior JP Roller, who was playing as an individual and posted a score of 1-under par 71 to improve 25 spots on the leaderboard to a tie for 37th place at 5-over par 221. Starting on No. 10, Roller was 1-over par through 16 holes before a pair of birdies on his final two holes to turn in his sixth under-par round of the season and third over the last two events.
Freshman Oliver Toyer finished one shot back of Roller and tied for 40th place after a 5-over par final round. Senior Shea Harmeson and sophomore Fionn Dobbin tied for 69th place at 11-over par 227, while freshman Ville Virkkala tied for 77th place at 14-over par 230.
Host school Mississippi State came from nine shots down to tie 15th-ranked Ole Miss for the team title at 17-under par 847. Dain Richie of Mississippi State and Tom Fischer of Ole Miss tied for the individual title at 8-under par 208.
Next action for K-State comes April 27 through 29 when the Wildcats compete in the 2026 Big 12 Championship held at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kansas.
