MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State senior men's golfer Alex Lindstrom will conclude his final collegiate campaign in the postseason, as he was selected as an individual for the 2026 NCAA Corvallis Regional, the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Selection Committee announced Wednesday on Golf Channel.
Lindstrom will be one of 10 individuals along with 13 teams to compete May 18-20 at the par-71, 7,361-yard Trysting Tree Golf Club, a course in which the Wildcats won an event in October 2022. The top five teams and the top individual on a non-advancing team in each of the six regional sites will move on to compete in the 2026 NCAA Championship, held May 29-June 3, at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
A native of Halmstad, Sweden, Lindstrom is the 19th Wildcat all-time to compete in an NCAA Regional as an individual, while it marks eight-straight seasons (excluding the cancelled 2020 postseason) that K-State will be represented in the NCAA Regionals by either a team or individual.
"We are very proud and excited for Alex to get a chance to compete in the postseason," head coach Grant Robbins said. "He has made some tremendous strides in his golf game over the past year, and it is nice to see him get rewarded for the hard work he has put in. He is going to a course where we have had success in the past, and I think it really sets up well for him and the strengths of his game. We are looking forward to getting out to Oregon and watching him compete."
Lindstrom leads the Wildcats with a 72.19 scoring average over 32 rounds this season and has recorded five top-20 finishes and three top-10 showings. He produced the 46th individual title in school history in September by winning the Git-R-Done Invitational in Lincoln, Nebraska, finishing the event 13-under par 200 to record the fifth-lowest 54-hole score in program history. Lindstrom was propelled to the low total thanks to a first-round score of 8-under par 63, a figure that tied for the second-lowest round in program history and was the lowest since 2004.
In addition to scoring average, Lindstrom also paces the Wildcats with 13 under-par rounds, which includes nine rounds in the 60s to give him 15 over his three-year K-State career. A former transfer from Hutchinson Community College, Lindstrom holds a career scoring average of 73.00 with four top-10 and eight top-20 finishes.
Lindstrom helped lead the Wildcats to a 289.15 team scoring average this season, which ranked as the seventh-lowest mark in program history. Additionally, K-State's five top-five finishes ranked ninth, and it produced two of the top 20 team 54-hole scores and three of the top 25 team rounds in school history.
