2021 MLB DRAFT
Taken by the Chicago Cubs in the first round (21st overall) of the 2021 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, becoming the first first-round draft pick in program history.

SOPHOMORE (2021)
Named to Collegiate Baseball's All-America Third Team to become K-State's first All-American since 2013 ... Earned All-Central Region Second Team and All-Big 12 First Team honors ... Tabbed the Big 12's Preseason Co-Pitcher of the Year and was twice named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week in addition to National Pitcher of the Week ... In 15 weekend starts, went 6-3 with a 3.70 ERA (38 ER, 92.1 IP) and 118 strikeouts ... His strikeout total led the Big 12 and set the program's single-season record ... Also set the program's all-time strikeout record with 230 ... Reached double-digit strikeouts four times, with a season-high 11 coming over 6 2/3 innings against West Virginia on April 23 ... Turned in eight quality starts, including a season-long 7 2/3 innings with two earned runs allowed in a win over TCU on May 20 ... Named National Pitcher of the Week after twirling seven shutout innings in a season-opening 3-2 win over Oregon State on February 19 ... Against the Beavers, he struck out 10, walked two and scattered three hits ... Struck out 10 again in his next start vs. Western Michigan ... Went at least five innings in all 15 starts and went six innings or longer 10 times ... Threw six scoreless against Eastern Illinois on March 5, striking out eight without a walk ... In Big 12 play, went 1-3 with a 4.47 ERA (25 ER, 50.1 IP) with 59 strikeouts and 18 walks.

2020 SUMMER LEAGUE
Began the summer with Perfect Timing Red of the Perfect Timing College League in Springdale, Arkansas, going 1-0 with a 0.61 ERA in four starts ... Tallied 23 strikeouts over 14 2/3 innings against five walks and just one earned run allowed ... In his last outing, punched out 10 over four frames with two hits allowed on June 29 ... Ended the season with a league-best ERA while ranking third in both WHIP (0.89) and strikeouts ... Allowed just one earned run on the season while totaling 17 strikeouts with seven hits allowed over his last 12 innings ... PT Red finished the season fourth in the league with a 11-7-1 record ... Debuted with the Rockford (Illinois) Rivets of the Northwoods League on July 9 and went 2-0 with a 0.45 ERA (1 ER, 20.0 IP) in four starts ... In his’ last start, he held La Crosse without a hit over five innings with eight strikeouts ... Did not allow an earned run in each of his last three games, a span of 15 innings ... Earned his first win of the season in his debut on July 9 after allowing one earned run with six strikeouts over five innings against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters ... In four starts, totaled 29 strikeouts in 20 innings with a WHIP of 0.85 ... The Rivets finished 16-27 and in third in the Wisconsin-Illinois (East) Division.

SOPHOMORE (2020)
Named to Academic All-Big 12 First Team ... Made four weekend starts in 2020, going 3-0 with a 0.35 ERA (1 ER, 26.0 IP) ... Rated the nation's No. 32 pitcher, and ninth among sophomores, by D1Baseball.com's analytics ... 0.35 earned run average ranked 10th in the country and third in the Big 12 (first among starters) ... His WHIP of 0.65 was the 18th-best in the nation and second in the Big 12 ... Began the season with a scoreless streak of 24 2/3 innings before allowing one earned run against Stanford on March 8 ... Struck out 26 hitters while issuing four walks ... In his first three starts, allowed zero runs on eight hits over a total of 19 innings with 22 strikeouts ... Struck out a season-high 10 batters over seven hitless frames against Utah on February 23, as K-State took a combined no-hitter into the ninth inning ... Three quality starts in four outings, going seven full innings in each quality start ... Surrendered four hits over seven innings with seven strikeouts in his season debut at UTRGV (February 16) ... Allowed one run on five hits in seven frames in a win at Stanford on March 8 ... Did not issue a walk in three of his four starts ... Five strikeouts in five scoreless innings in a 20-1 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on February 29 ... Opponents hit .151 against him while leading the team in wins, innings pitched, ERA and second in strikeouts.

FRESHMAN (2019)
Named 2019 Big 12 Freshman of the Year and a unanimous selection to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team ... A Second Team All-Big 12 pick and named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week on April 15 ... Earned a spot on the Academic All-Big 21 Rookie Team ... Made 15 appearances (all starts) in his first season at K-State, posting a 6-3 record with a 3.61 ERA (34 ER, 84.2 IP) with 86 strikeouts against 26 walks ... Led K-State in starts, innings pitched, wins strikeouts and walks per nine innings (2.4) ... Broke K-State's freshman records in both innings pitched and strikeouts - both had stood since 1973 (Andy Replogle) ... Tossed a five-hit shutout at No. 14 Texas on April 14 to clinch series victory, striking out six and retiring 14 of the last 15 he faced ... It marked K-State's first shutout of Texas and just the program's second road series win over a ranked opponent ... Led the Wildcats with eight quality starts, including a stretch of three straight starts from April 28-May 12 ... Twice struck out nine hitters in back-to-back starts - a season high - on Marh 30 vs. Texas Tech and April 6 at Creighton ... Tossed seven shutout innings against Old Dominion on March 9, striking out four with just two hits allowed ... Earned first career win on February 23 against Utah at the Tony Gwynn Legacy in San Diego, California, going seven innings and allowing two earned runs on six hits with six strikeouts ... Six times went at least seven innings in a start ... In Big 12 play, went 2-2 with a 4.57 ERA (23 ER, 45.1 IP) to go with 42 strikeouts and 16 walks ... Led K-State in starts, wins, innings pitched and strikeouts during conference play.

HIGH SCHOOL
Attended Conway High School in Conway, Arkansas ... Was a four-year letterwinner for Conway, leading the Wampus Cats to three runner-up finishes in the state tournament ... Owns the career record for wins (30), ERA (1.54) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.6) at Conway ... Named all-conference four times, a two-time all-state selection and twice named all-state honorable mention ... Went 11-1 with a 0.84 ERA and 126 strikeouts his senior year ... 8-1 with a 0.86 ERA and 80 strikeouts his junior season ... Also lettered in football and was named all-conference as a kicker his senior season.
