Big 10 Preseason Freshman of the Year … Played in 44 games, including 43 starts ... Started 12 games in center field before taking over as the starting shortstop for the final 29 games ... Leadoff hitter for the final 36 games ... Hit .297 with three homers and 21 RBI ... Also had 12 doubles and two triples ... Second on the team with a .430 on-base percentage, including 32 walks ...
