CAREER: A three-year letterwinner who served as the starting center for each of the 23 games spanning the 2020 and 2021 seasons... Came back in 2021 for his sixth year of eligibility.
2021: Started all 13 games at center en route to Honorable Mention All-Big 12 accolades... Only allowed two sacks on the season and was saddled with just one penalty... Helped K-State tie for second in the Big 12 with 29 rushing touchdowns, while the Wildcats’ 4.83 yards per rush ranked sixth in school history... Voted a team captain.
2020: Started all regular-season games – the first starts of his career – as he picked up Second Team All-Big 12 honors from the league’s coaches and earned votes for the Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year award… Helped K-State tie for first in the Big 12 and 27th nationally in sacks allowed (14), while the Wildcats led the Big 12 and ranked fourth in the nation in red zone offense (93.9%)... Voted a team captain… A First Team Academic All-Big 12 performer.
2019: Played as a reserve offensive lineman against Nicholls, Bowling Green and Kansas... Picked up First Team Academic All-Big 12 accolades.
COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Played at Butler under head coach Tim Schaffner... Earned first team all-conference honors as a guard during his sophomore season of 2017, blocking for an offense that averaged 167.0 rushing yards with 22 touchdowns... Earned honorable mention all-conference accolades as a freshman in 2016, a year in which he played every offensive snap... Played at Butler with current Wildcats Jahron McPherson and Ty Zentner.
HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year letterwinner at Bishop Carroll under head coach Alan Schuckman... The Golden Eagles went 34-3 with Johnson as a starter... Earned 2015 first team all-state honors from the Topeka Capital-Journal and Wichita Eagle, while he was named to both publications’ Top 11 teams as one of the top prep players in the state of Kansas... Also earned first team all-state honors from both publications as a junior... Helped Bishop Carroll average 45.8 points per game and total nearly 5,000 offensive yards during his senior year of 2015.
