
Cats Washed Out of Round Three Due to Rain

WEST POINT, Miss.– Due to heavy rain, the final round for the Kansas State women's golf team at the Magnolia Invitational on Tuesday was canceled. The coaches came to the consensus to cancel the final round after the course experienced heavy rainfall during the morning hours, with more expected throughout the day.
As a result of the cancellation, the final results revert back to the 36-hole scores. Therefore, round two results become final.
As a team, Kansas State tied for 9th place at 27-over par 603 with both East Tennessee State and Virginia Tech.
Sophomore Ella Adams lead all Wildcats at 4-over par 148, tying for 30th place. Trailing Adams by three strokes was sophomore Reid Isaac, who tied for 45th place with a 7-over par 154 score. Senior Chloe Weir carded a 10-over par 154, tying in 57th. Sophomore Niamh McSherry followed by tying in 61st place at 12-over par 156. Rounding out the effort was freshman Briony Bayles, who shot 13-over par 157 to place her in 67th.
Kennesaw State took home the team title, as the Owls carded a 5-under par 571, edging co-host Mississippi State by a single stroke. Anika Bolcikova of Auburn was the individual champion after carding a 7-under par 137.
The Wildcats will be back in action, October 29-30, in Dallas, Texas, as they look to defend last year's title at the Trinity Forest Invitational.
