MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State women's golf team closes out the fall portion of its schedule Monday and Tuesday as the Wildcats look to defend their team title at the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas, Texas. The event will be played on the par-72, 6,372-yard layout at the Trinity Forest Golf Club.
This will be the Wildcats' second-consecutive appearance at Trinity Forest as they carded a 29-over par 893 last year to take home the team title. Sophomore Reid Isaac will also look to replicate last year's performance as the native Texan shot a 1-under par 215 to claim the individual title.
The two-day invitational will consist of 54 holes, with 36 holes being played on Monday and the final round of 18 being played on Tuesday. There will be an 8 a.m., shotgun start to begin play on both days.
"This is a great, challenging and fun course to play," head coach Kristi Knight said. "Our mindset is the key to good scores this week. We know that from last year when we did not hit the ball perfect, but we had the best mindset of any team there. To be successful we have to accept the uniqueness of Trinity Forest and put our energy into playing golf."
The Wildcats will send Isaac, Ella Adams, Chloe Weir, Niamh McSherry and Briony Bayles to compete in the event, the same lineup they have used in the previous three tournaments. McSherry tied for 13that last year's Trinity Forest Invitational, while Adams tied for 26th.
Kansas State will be joined in the field by invitational host SMU, as well as Chattanooga, Colorado, Dallas Baptist, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, North Texas, Oregon State, Tennessee and UTSA.
