Wildcats Back in Action at MountainView Collegiate

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State women's golf team will be back in action over the weekend at the MountainView Collegiate Invitational in Tucson, Arizona. The event will be played on at the par-72, 6,227-yard MountainView Golf Club. The three-day tournament will consist of 18 holes per day with an 8 a.m. (MT) start each day.

The Wildcats are making their 20^th appearance in the MountainView Collegiate Invitational, an even they co-host with Missouri. K-State won the event in 2002 and has finished in the top five six other times.

K-State will be led into the event by senior standout Connie Jaffrey. Jaffrey is coming into the stretch run of the season with two consecutive top-10 finishes. The Kilwinning, Scotland, native has produced all season as she currently holds a team-best stroke average of 71.43.

"It is good to get back into tournament play," head coach Kristi Knight said. "The ladies had a few days off and some good days of practice. Staying composed, handling adversity and playing with trust are the keys to success."

Kansas State's lineup will feature Jaffrey, along with a quartet of freshmen in Reid Isaac, Niamh McSherry, Ella Adams and Darby Deans. Isaac is second on the team with a 73.71 stroke average, while she has three top-20 finishes.

Joining Kansas State in the field will be Central Arkansas, Colorado State, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Missouri State, Nebraska, New Mexico State, North Texas, Sam Houston State, San Jose State, Wichita State and Wyoming.
