Wildcats Look to Finish Strong at Big 12 Championship

Apr 19, 2018 | Women's Golf

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Looking to end the season on a positive note, the Kansas State women's golf team will take part in the 22nd Big 12 Championship, Friday through Sunday, in Dallas, Texas. The event will be contested at the par-72, 6,215-yard Dallas Athletic Club for the first time in league history.

The three-day tournament will consist of tee times beginning at 8 a.m., on all three days. K-State's tee time on Friday is set for 10 a.m., as the Wildcats will be paired with TCU and Kansas.

"The team is looking forward to playing the Dallas Athletic Club and competing," head coach Kristi Knight said. "It is a good old-style golf course."

Kansas State will be led into the conference championship by senior star Connie Jaffrey, who checks in at No. 59 nationally in the latest Golfstat individual rankings. The Kilwinning, Scotland, native looks to finish a successful regular-season strong, which includes two individual tournament titles, six top-10 finishes and a 72.48 stroke average.

Kansas State's lineup will feature Jaffrey, along with freshmen Reid Isaac, Niamh McSherry, Ella Adams and Darby Deans.

The Big 12 has been strong all year long as the league features four nationally-ranked teams in Texas (7th), Oklahoma State (16th), Oklahoma (19th) and Iowa State (24th).

Live scoring of the Big 12 Championship can be followed at www.big12sports.com as well as www.Golfstat.com. Results will be available at www.k-statesports.com at the conclusion of play on all three days.
