
Williams Collects Third CoSIDA Academic All-District Honor

MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State women's basketball senior forward Peyton Williams was selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District VII Women's Basketball First Team in an announcement by the organization on Thursday.
This is her third straight regional honor and her second first team selection. She joins Laurie Koehn and Kendra Wecker as the only three-time CoSIDA Academic All-District VII recipients for K-State women's basketball.
As a program, K-State women's basketball has earned 23 CoSIDA Academic All-District VII citations by 14 student-athletes.
As a first team selection, Williams advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in early March.
Williams, a product of Topeka, Kansas, is a double major in anthropology and international studies with a minor in political science. During her women's basketball career, Williams has been a heavily decorated student-athlete.
In addition to her three CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, Williams has been named a finalist for the 2020 Senior CLASS Award, the 2019 Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the 2019 Big 12/Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award recipient, two-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team and 2016-17 Big 12 Academic All-Rookie Team.
On the floor, the 2020 All-America candidate is averaging 15.7 points, field goal percentage (.467), free throw percentage (.826) and rebounding (9.8 rpg). Williams ranks among the top-15 in program history for career points (12th; 1,484), rebounds (3rd; 932), blocks (5th; 116) and free throws made (7th; 319). She is the first player in program history with 1,400 or more points, 900 or more rebounds, 200 or more assists, 150 or more steals and 100 or more blocks.
Williams is second in the league in total rebounds, offensive (3.7 orpg) and defensive (8.2 drpg) rebounds. She also ranks among the top-10 in the league in scoring (10th), field goal percentage (7th), blocks (9th), double-doubles (5th) and minutes played (4th).
K-State will be on the road again this weekend, as the Wildcats travel to Austin, Texas, to face the Longhorns on Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m. Saturday's game will be broadcast on Longhorn Network as well as on the K-State Sports Network and for free at kstatesports.com.
