
K-State’s Lee, Carr Collect All-Big 12 Honors

MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State's Ayoka Lee and Christianna Carr were recognized by the Big 12 coaches for their efforts this season, as the league office announced the 2020-21 Phillips 66 All-Big 12 Women's Basketball Awards on Wednesday.
Lee was named to the All-Big 12 First Team for the second straight season, while Carr earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors for the first time in her career.
A preseason candidate for every national award including the Wade Trophy, Naismith Trophy, Wooden Award and Lisa Leslie Award, Lee completed the 2020-21 regular season with a career-high 19.4 points per game. Her scoring average this season is the highest by a Wildcat since Brittany Chambers set the school record at 21.0 points per game in 2012-13.
Lee has also recorded a career-best field goal percentage of .625 and a career-best free throw percentage of .803. She leads the Big 12 and ranks third in the nation in field goal percentage. She is the only player in NCAA Division I with a field goal percentage of .600 or better and a free throw percentage of .800 or better.
The product of Byron, Minnesota, recorded eight double-doubles, which included a 37-point, 18-rebound effort against Oklahoma on January 31. Her 37 points set the school record for points in a Big 12 Conference game, are the fifth-most points scored in any game and the most since Brittany Chambers set the school-record of 42 against Texas Southern on March 21, 2013.
In league play, Lee was even better as she ranked fifth for scoring average with 19.8 points per game and leads the league in field goal percentage at .629. She was the only player in Big 12 play to card a field goal percentage of 60.0 percent or better.
On the boards in Big 12 action, Lee averaged 8.56 per game and ranked sixth in the league. She ranked fourth in the Big 12 in offensive rebounds with 3.11 per game.
Carr ended the regular season with a career-high scoring average of 15.0 points per game and a career-best field goal percentage of .381, a career-high 3-point field goal percentage of .361 and a career-best free throw percentage of .781.
The junior from Manhattan, Kansas, also pulled in a career-high 4.8 rebounds per game and notched a pair of double-doubles this season.
In Big 12 action, Carr scored in double figures in 13 of 15 league games played. She averaged 15.7 points per game and ranked 14th in the league in scoring. She also ranked 18th in the Big 12 for rebounds per game with 4.8.
Up next for K-State is the 2021 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship. The Wildcats are slated as the 10th seed and will face seven-seed Texas Tech on Thursday at 8 p.m., in Kansas City at Municipal Auditorium.
