
Incoming Wildcats Collect 2021 MBCA Honors

MANHATTAN, Kansas – The incoming K-State women's basketball freshman class for the 2021-22 season collected a number of honors from the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association (MBCA) at the conclusion of their seasons.
Serena Sundell of Maryville, Missouri, was named the 2021 Miss Show-Me Basketball, as well as the 2021 Class 4 Player of the Year and to the Class 4 All-State Team.
Notable past winners of the Miss Show-Me Basketball honor include: Napheesa Collier (2015), Sophie Cunningham (2015) and Niele Ivey (1996).
Sundell was rated as the number three player in the state of Missouri by Prep Girls Hoops. She is also a four-star prospect and is on the 2021 watch list for ProspectsNation.com.
In the 2020-21 season, Sundell averaged 25.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 3.1 steals and 1.0 blocks while leading the Spoofhounds to a 22-2 overall record and a runner-up finish in the Class 4 District 16 playoffs. During the season, she surpassed the 2,000-point mark for her prep career and set the career points record at Maryville High School with 2,358.
Joining Sundell with 2021 MBCA postseason accolades were Brylee and Jaelyn Glenn from Raymore, Missouri. The Glenn sisters were named Class 3 All-State selections by the MBCA for their efforts this season at The Barstow School. Jaelyn Glenn was also a 2021 McDonald's All-American Game nominee.
Brylee Glenn averaged 17 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals while collecting 2021 Crossroads Conference Player of the Year and 2021 District Player of the Year honors. She finished her career at The Barstow School with over 1,000 career points scored and the school's career record holder for career scoring average and career games with 40 or more points scored with three.
Jaelyn Glenn capped the 2020-21 season with per game averages of 15 points, seven rebounds, five assists, four steals and almost two blocks. In addition to her McDonald's All-American Game nomination, Glenn was a 2021 All-District and All-Crossroads Conference First Team recipient. She ended her career with over 1,000 career points and the school career record holder for assists and steals. She also finished with the school single-game records for points (58), three-point field goals made (8), rebounds (22) and steals (13).
K-State concluded the 53rd season in program history in 2020-21. The Wildcats will return 2021 All-Big 12 recipients Ayoka Lee and Christianna Carr and preseason 2020-21 All-Big 12 honorable mention selection Rachel Ranke for the 2021-22 season.
