FROM THE HEAD COACH
K-State Head Coach Jeff Mittie

On the team's performance today...
"They didn't do anything that we didn't know that they were really good at. I knew that they were a team that can post up multiple players. I didn't like our aggressiveness at the offensive end. I felt like we took some really tough shots. And the pace of play for us wasn't as good as we needed to be. But I was proud of our group for fighting back, liked our fight there at the end. I certainly would have liked that in the early part of the second half to see that urgency that we had at the end, but I think we gave ourselves a chance at the end and got beat by a good team."

On the urgent mindset...
"I think early in the game, we were pretty decent. I felt like we were pretty physical doing some good things. I think that when our shots weren't falling, or our energy level dropped off, and we got to make sure that we're not tying that energy to make some misses. That's going to be the growth of our team, the maturity of our team.

On the defense...
"We were a little slow in rotations. They presented a different challenge and I thought our group battled but we were a little slow in that rotation. They definitely shot it better than they have."

On Gabby Gregory reaching 1,000 career points...
"She's been a great addition. Congrats for her for 1000. I know she'd rather have the win because you know, that's just her personality but we knew the 1000 was coming. She played tough, hard-nosed today. Always does. She been a great addition to our team. And yeah, I'm proud of her for getting 1000."

FROM THE FLOOR
GABBY GREGORY, SENIOR GUARD

On the team's mentality today...
"I think we showed a lot of fight there towards the end of the game. I think we could have easily gave up getting down that many points or towards the end but I think we showed a lot of fight there. We just needed a fight earlier. I think we came out flat in the second half. didn't shoot the ball well in the third quarter. And just like Coach Mittie said, we tie that into our effort a lot of times and we got to just play hard no matter if the ball is going in the basket or not. So yeah, I wish we could have that third quarterback for sure."

On pulling K-State through offensive struggles in the second quarter...
"I mean, I never really have the mindset that I that I have to take it on. I mean, I just tried to play the same every day. If I'm open, I'm gonna shoot it."

On reaching 1,000 career points...
"I knew it was coming, obviously rather have the win, but yeah, I mean, it's a good accomplishment to have. Would have rather have had the win though."
