K-State Falls on the Road to (10/11) Baylor

WACO, Texas – Playing its fifth Associated Press top-15 opponent in the last five weeks, K-State fell to (10/11) Baylor at Ferrell Center on Wednesday night, 95-50.
K-State (17-7, 7-5 Big 12), since January 11, has played an AP top-15 foe in five straight weeks which is the first time for the program since the 2009-10 season.
Baylor (18-5, 8-3 Big 12), leading 18-14 after the first quarter, dashed out to a 7-0 run to begin the second quarter and build an 11-point lead, 25-14, with 8:45 remaining.
The 7-0 run was a sign of things to come for the Bears, as they would outscore the Wildcats, 28-13, in the second frame and build a 46-27 lead at halftime. The 19-point halftime deficit was the largest of the season for K-State.
The Bears halted any attempt of a K-State comeback in the third quarter by knocking down 4-of-5 from beyond the arc in the first five minutes to build a 62-31 lead.
Baylor would keep the foot on the accelerator and score 32 points in the third frame with the help of a 64.7 percent effort from the field to hold a 78-38 lead entering the fourth quarter.
The Wildcats outscored the Bears early in the fourth quarter, 8-4, but Baylor Would complete the frame with a 17-12 advantage for the final margin.
Kansas State was led by Brylee Glenn with 10 points, while Cymone Goodrich added nine points. The Wildcats shot 32.7 percent (18-of-55) from the field.
Baylor featured four of its eight active players in double figures and were paced by Jordan Lewis with 24 points, while NaLyssa Smith added 22 points, Queen Egbo finished with 19 points and 16 rebounds and Sarah Andrews added 19 points. The Bears shot 57.4 percent (35-of-61) from the field including 11-of-19 (.579) from the 3-point line.
K-State will complete its two-game road trip this week on Saturday night, as the Wildcats visit Kansas for the Dillons Sunflower Showdown at 6 p.m. Saturday's game will air on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
