MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State track and field team will travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas for the 2022 NCAA West Preliminary at the John McDonnell Field on Wednesday-Thursday, May 25-26.
K-State is sending 18 individuals and two relay squads to compete in 13 events, 100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter (men's and women's), 800-meter (men's and women's), 1,500-meter, 4x400-meter relay (men's and women's), high jump, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot put, hammer throw (men's and women's) and javelin throw.
These individuals and relays will get a chance to qualify for the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon at Hayward Field on Wednesday-Saturday, June 8-11.
"If the athletes perform at or near their personal best levels, they will have a chance to advance to the second round," stated Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Cliff Rovelto. "To advance to the next weekend, they will definitely have to be at personal-best level. In many events, what it took to get to Big 12 finals will be similar to what it takes to move on from here."

McCall placed third at the Big 12 Championships on May 13 in the hammer throw event with a mark of 67.31m/220-10, just .25 meters off his school record mark of 67.56m/221-8.

The New Delhi native finished in second place with a height of 2.22m/7-3.25, which puts him at seventh in the nation.
Transfers Tommi Hintnaus (women's pole vault) and Emma Robbins (women's hammer throw) will make their first appearances at the West Regional as a member of the K-State track and field team. Hintnaus made her mark in the pole vault at the Big 12 Championships with a fourth-place finish with a personal-best height of 4.25m/13-11.25. The men's 4x400-meter relay team, comprised of junior Sean Wilson, sophomore Kyle Gale, junior Tim Lambert Jr. and freshman Antonio Hanson, will compete against 23 other schools including Big 12 members TCU, Texas Tech, Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
