EUGENE, Ore. – Sophomore Kade McCall made his way into the top-16 competitors for the men's hammer throw event at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon at Hayward Field on Wednesday (June 8).

In McCall's first attempt of the day, he threw to a mark of 67.62m/221-10 and set the school record that he previous set at the Texas Relays (67.56m/221-8). It wasn't until the Boise, Idaho native surpassed his previous record and threw even further to 67.71m/222-1, placing 13th overall and earning All-American Second Team distinction.

"Kade really capped off a great season today with three throws better than his personal best and resetting the school record," stated assistant coach Greg Watson. "That is the type of performance you love to see at the national championships. I am really happy for him!"

Freshman Emil Uhlin ran a time of 11.61 in the 100-meter dash portion of the men's decathlon where he placed 22nd overall.
