
Track and Field Start 2023 with KU-KSU-WSU Triangular in Topeka

This is the 9th meet between the three schools.
MANHATTAN, Kan.- The Kansas State men's and women's track and field teams start 2023 with its first indoor meet on Friday (January 13) in the KU-KSU-WSU Triangular hosted by the Shockers at the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility in Topeka.
The field events will start the day at 11 a.m., CT with the weight throw, while the track events begin at 1:20 p.m., CT in the mile run.
The Triangular, which consists of the men's and women's teams from Kansas, K-State and Wichita State, is a team scored meet with individual's event points being added to an overall score and a winning team determined at the conclusion.
Last season, the meet was hosted by Kansas at the Anschutz Sports Pavilion, where the Wildcats won the event for the third straight year with a score of 246 points. Then senior Tejaswin Shankar earned the high point award for the second year in a row with 17.25 points in four events.
The first season of the KU-KSU-WSU Triangular was 2014-15, since then seven women and four men hold event records in the meet.
The Wildcats started the season on December 9 in the Carol Robinson Women's Winter Pentathlon featuring junior Urte Bacianskaite and December 10 in the K-State Winter Invitational.
