FROM THE HEAD COACH
K-State Head Coach Jeff Mittie
On the flow of the game…
"I think this was kind of a streaky game in general not just the first half. Milton had the first half. The second half they got it inside better and Garzon got loose when we were making a run for a couple threes so you know they've got really good offensive weapons. And you know I thought in the second half we did a really good job on their guards but we lost guards a couple of times. And then, you know, De Lapp and Collins played real well in the second half when we're able to get some buckets in there. We went smaller so they did a good job of getting inside. Our press was very effective. But we obviously had to go with our quicker lineup in that stretch to get back in the game."
On the difference between the two meetings this season…
"I thought they were more physical at the defensive end than they were in Manhattan. I thought their guards were particularly more physical. I thought they had a better awareness of Shematsi. They definitely committed to her more at the three-point line even though Sarah was able to get a couple. She didn't have the freedom of getting out there like she had in the first game."
