Wildcats Head to Lawrence for Rock Chalk Classic

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The K-State men's and women's track and field teams will compete on Saturday (April 29) in the one-day Rock Chalk Classic in Lawrence, Kan., at Rock Chalk Park. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for youth.

The day starts at 10 a.m. CT, with the men's javelin, the track events starting at 12:30 p.m., CT with the women's 4x100 meter relay.

The Wildcats are coming off a strong effort at the Michael Johnson Invitational on April 21-22 in Waco, Texas, as the team had multiple top-10 performances and personal bests.

Senior Stephen Kielhofner and freshman Grace Meyer won the men's and women's 1,500 meters. Kielhofner, No. 9 in the K-State outdoor records, ran in 3:45.77, while Meyer ran a new personal best of 4:32.81.

After not competing last weekend, K-State throwers will take the field in Lawrence, including junior Emma Robbins who sits at No. 1 in the Big 12 women's hammer throw with a distance of 67.03m/219-11, and junior Kade McCall who is No. 3 in the Big 12 men's hammer throw at 67.24m/220-7.

The Wildcats will then finish the regular season by hosting the Ward Haylett Invitational at the R.V. Christian Track on Saturday, May 6.
