
Tennis Releases Spring Schedule Featuring 11 Home Matches

The seventh season under head coach Jordan Smith will start on January 16 in California
K-State women's tennis head coach Jordan Smith announced on Friday (Dec. 13) the upcoming spring schedule for the 2025 season starting on January 16. Entering his seventh season at the helm, Smith and the Wildcats will host 11 matches at Body First Tennis Center and Mike Goss Tennis Stadium.
Heading into the spring, two K-State doubles teams were featured in the final fall national ranking from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on December 3. Senior Veronika Kulhava and sophomore Tereza Polakova were ranked no. 50 and sophomore Maralgoo Chogsomjav and junior Maria Santos at no. 58.
The Wildcats will kick off January in California for the Battle at Indian Wells hosted by Kansas on January 16-18, at Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
The first three matches at home begin with Drake on January 25, versus in-state familiar Wichita State on February 1 and a matchup against Kentucky on February 9.
On the road again, the Cats will face Auburn in Alabama on February 15, prior to a neutral site match against Iowa in Kansas City, Kan., on February 21.
During a three-match home stretch, K-State will host one last non-conference team with Rice on February 23. Starting Big 12 Conference play, the Wildcats will host UCF for the first time on February 28 prior to Houston on March 2.
The Wildcats will begin their first Big 12 road series on March 7 facing Cincinnati in Ohio before travelling to Morgantown, W.V., in a matchup against West Virginia on March 9.
Back in Manhattan for another three match homestand, the Cats will meet Oklahoma State on March 14 before a weekend series against Arizona on March 21 and then a first-ever matchup against Arizona State on March 23.
K-State will wrap up March in Texas with two matches, against Baylor in Waco on March 28 before facing TCU on March 30 in Fort Worth.
Wrapping up the home schedule, the Wildcats will host BYU for the first time on April 3, while facing Utah for the first time as a program on April 5.
On the road for the last time prior to the postseason, the Cats will face Iowa State in Ames on April 11 before the Sunflower Showdown takes place in Lawrence on April 13 against the Jayhawks.
The Baylor Bears will host the Big 12 Championship this season in Waco on April 16-19, at Hurd Tennis Center, for the first time since 2021.
The Big 12 preseason poll will be revealed on January 2 while the first ITA team rankings will be announced on January 6.
