Ten Wildcats Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

Three Wildcats earned their second consecutive All-District honor

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Ten K-State track and field athletes earned Academic All-District honors on Tuesday (June 18) by the College Sports Communicators.
 
Five women— Urte Bacianskaite, Cecilia Fisher, Jasmine Greer, Daisy Monie and Emma Robbins —and five men— Nate Collier, Tommy Hazen, Tim Lambert, Emil Uhlin and Andrew White, were named.

As Academic All-District selections, Bacianskaite, Collier, Greer, Hazen, Monie and Uhlin were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced on July 9-10. 

Bacianskaite, with her second CSC All-District honors, graduated with a 3.57 GPA in athletic training and rehab sciences. A native of Panevezys, Lithuania, she ended her collegiate career as a two-time Second Team All-American, competing in her third consecutive NCAA Championship earlier this month where she finished 12th in the women's heptathlon with 5,696 points. Competing in the heptathlon three times during the outdoor season, she finished 3rd at the outdoor Big 12 Championship with 5,714 points.
 
Collier, from Delaware, Okla., is a junior majoring in kinesiology with a 3.50 GPA. Collier joined the Wildcats at the start of the fall after transferring from Abilene Christian where he spent his freshman season. During the outdoor season he competed in the discus throw and shot put, medaling at the Big 12 Championship in the discus in 5th place.
 
Fisher is a junior from Overland Park, Kan., with a 4.00 GPA in secondary education. During the cross country season, she ran in all six races, finishing top-50 five times. She ran in the mile and 3,000 meters during the indoor season and mainly in the 3,000 meter steeplechase during the outdoor track season, advancing to the NCAA West Preliminary.
 
Greer graduated with a 3.77 GPA in statistics and data sciences. Originally from Sioux Falls, S.D., she competed in two throwing events during both the indoor and outdoors seasons. At the indoor Big 12 Championship she medaled in both the shot put and weight throw. She medaled again in the shot put during the outdoor season before advancing to the NCAA West Prelims.
 
Hazen, from Overland Park, Kan., is a senior with a 3.76 GPA in operations and supply chain management. He ran in all six races during the cross country season, including leading the men's team in the NCAA Midwest Regional 10k, finishing 69th. During the indoor season he mainly ran in the 3,000 meters and then in the 3,000 meter steeplechase during the outdoor season. He medaled in the steeplechase at the Big 12 Championship with a personal best in 8th place before advancing to the West Preliminary.
 
Lambert graduated with a master's in kinesiology with a 4.00 GPA. From Lindsborg, Kan., he competed in multiple sprinting events during the indoor season before running mainly in the 400 meter hurdles in the spring.
 
Monie, from Mission, Texas, is a senior majoring in psychology with a 3.69 GPA. Monie transferred from Houston at the start of the year after spending two seasons at the University of Houston. She competed in the shot put all year, also competing in the discus throw during the outdoor season. She medaled in the shot put in 4th place during the outdoor Big 12 championship before advancing to the West Prelims in both events.
 
Robbins enters graduate school with a 3.73 GPA in human resources management with her second All-District honors. The Anaheim, Calif., native competed only once this year, in the weight throw during the first meet of the indoor season. Last year she advanced to the outdoor NCAA Championship in the hammer throw where she finished 4th with a new school record throw.
 
Uhlin, a native of Falun, Sweden, is a senior studying integrative biology with a 4.00 GPA. Earning his second CSC academic honor, he competed in two heptathlons during the indoor season, medaling at the Big 12 Championship in 5th place. Last season, Uhlin competed in the decathlon twice during the outdoor season, finishing 5th at the Big 12 Championship with 7,539 points.
 
White, originally from Canton, Ohio, earned his financial therapy graduate certificate with a 4.00 GPA. White joined the Wildcats as a graduate transfer from Wake Forest, competing for K-State during the outdoor season. He competed in the discus and hammer throw, advancing all the way to the NCAA Championship in the discus. He earned All-America honorable mention with a 17th place finish during his first outdoor championship.
 
Requirements for nomination include a 3.50 GPA and one year of previous competition.
