Sep 19, 2024 | Baseball
MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State's Michael Quevedo, a senior transfer from Nicholls State, ranked 72nd overall in the D1Baseball Top 85 Impact Transfers List.
Â
"Quevedo has bulldog written all over him as he moves over to Manhattan for his final season," wrote D1Baseball's managing editor and writer Kendall Rogers. "He showed solid command of the zone with 21 walks, while also striking out 68 and limiting teams to a .257 OBA."
Â
"Quevedo showcased a fastball that averaged out around 88.7 mph last season (per Synergy), while also attacking hitters with a curveball and changeup that both averaged velocities in the upper-70s."
Â
A 5-foot-11 left-hander, Quevedo arrives in Manhattan following a two-year stint at Nicholls State  where he made 28 appearances on the hill, that included 23 starts.
Â
Quevedo went 9-3 for the Colonels with a 5.13 ERA and 92 strikeouts over 112 1/3 innings. In 2023, he logged five innings in the Southland Conference Championship to pick up the win against New Orleans.
Prior to his stop at Nicholls, he made his collegiate debut at Little Rock, making seven appearances with two starts for the Trojans. He finished with a 2-1 record and ERA of 5.87 over 23 innings while striking out 12.
He is the son of Ramon Quevedo and Elizabeth Garcia, and younger brother to Ramon Jr. Â
Â
K-State announced the Wildcats' fall baseball schedule, which features a scrimmage against McLennan (Oct. 18), Halloween ALS Awareness Game (Oct. 28) and Fall World Series (Oct. 31-Nov. 3). All events will be held at Tointon Family Stadium with free admission.
