K-State Hits the Road for Red Raider Invitational

Wildcats will compete in the first road meet of the season
The K-State track and field teams hit the road for the first time this indoor season on Friday (Jan. 24) to Lubbock, Texas for the one-day Red Raider Invitational hosted by Texas Tech at the Sports Performance Center.
The day will begin with the women's shot put at 10:30 a.m., followed by the women's 600 yards starting on the track at 11 a.m. All events will be streamed on ESPN+.
Other competing teams include Kansas, New Mexico State, North Texas, Oklahoma, USC, Virginia Tech and more.
The Wildcats started the indoor season hosting the KU-KSU-WSU Triangular on January 17, highlighted by multiple first place finishes. As a team, K-State finished with 188 points.
Senior Tommy Hazen broke multiple records during the men's 3,000 meters in his 8:03.77 personal best, including the school, meet and facility records. Junior Gary Moore Jr. tied for the men's high point award with 14 points by winning both the weight throw 20.90m (68'7") and shot put 17.90m (58'8.75").
Freshman Stella Miner ran in her first collegiate race, winning the women's 1,000 meters with a time of 2:51.77. Junior Safhia Hinds, a transfer from South Plains Community College, won the women's 400 meter dash in 54.90 seconds, now the no. 10 time in the K-State records.
