MANHATTAN, Kan. – Coming off a victory in the season-opening Wildcat Invitational, the Kansas State men's golf team is quickly back in action as it competes in The Wohali, Monday and Tuesday, at the par-71, 7,873-yard Wohali Club in Coalville, Utah.

K-State, which earned a five-shot victory to win its home event for the fourth-straight season, is set to compete in the state of Utah for the first time in program history.

"We are looking forward to playing in Utah for the first time," said head coach Grant Robbins. "This is a fairly new golf course, but I have heard great things about it, and the field for the first year of this tournament is very strong. Being in the mountains, we will obviously need to adjust to the elevation, so the practice round will be extremely important. It should be a fun week. I am excited to see how we stack up against some really good competition this early in the year."

The Wildcats will get an early-season look at a few of their Big 12 brethren as they face host-school Utah in addition to Arizona State and BYU. The rest of the 14-team field includes Cal Poly, Colorado State, Georgia Southern, New Mexico, Oregon State, San Diego, San Diego State, Tarleton State, UCLA and UNLV.

Kansas State's scoring lineup for The Wohali will consist of senior transfer Shea Harmeson, freshman Ville Virkkala, sophomores Fionn Dobbin and Tyler Strong, as well as senior Alex Lindstrom. Additionally, senior JP Roller and freshman Oliver Toyer will compete in a separate individual tournament, the Soldier Hollow Individual, held at the par-72, 7,719-yard Soldier Hollow Golf Course in Midway, Utah.

Harmeson, who transferred from Saginaw Valley State, tied for second place in his first event as a Wildcat at 3-under par 213, one of only seven players to finish the Wildcat Invitational under par while battling rainy and windy conditions. His 54-hole score featured a second-round total of 3-under par 69.

Finishing three strokes shy of Harmeson at even par while playing as an individual for the first event of his collegiate career was Virkkala. A product of Espoo, Finland, Virkkala began his career on a high note with a first-round score of 4-under par 68 thanks to four birdies and only one bogey. It tied for the best season-opening round by a freshman in school history and fourth best overall.

A native of Lisburn, Northern Ireland, Dobbin posted a 54-hole score of 3-over par 219 at the Wildcat Invitational to tie for 12th place, the second top-20 finish of his career. Strong, a product of Olathe, Kansas, was one shot behind Dobbin to tie for 20th place in the season opener.

Lindstrom opened his senior campaign with his second career top-10 finish when he tied for 10th place at 2-over par 218. A native of Halmstad, Sweden, Lindstrom posted his first top-10 finish since his first event as a Wildcat two years ago after transferring from Hutchinson Community College.

Roller, a fifth-year senior, opened the 2025-26 season with a tie for 23rd place at 6-over par 222, while Toyer began his collegiate career in a tie for 20th place at 8-over par 224.

Tee times will be utilized to start the first two rounds of play of The Wohali on Monday with K-State's first time set for 7:30 a.m. (MT). Live results of The Wohali can be followed here, while results of the Soldier Hollow Individual can be followed here.
