FIRST SERVE

After continuing its best start to a season since 2013, K-State (6-0) is headed to Nebraska for its final tune-up before Big 12 play, taking on 20^th-ranked Creighton (5-5) at D.J. Sokol Arena in Omaha Friday at 7 p.m.
Following the match with the Bluejays, the Wildcats will have a quick turnaround and face Omaha (6-3) on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Baxter Arena.

Friday's match between K-State and No. 20 Creighton will be nationally televised on ESPN2, while Saturday's contest at Omaha will be broadcast on the Summit League Network.

K-STATE AT A GLANCE

K-State is coming off its sixth consecutive victory after topping Nevada in four sets, 21-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-15, Sunday afternoon in Reno.
After dropping the first set – the first opening-set loss of the season – the Wildcats rallied to secure their sixth consecutive victory, marking the program's best start to a season since 2013.
The win was highlighted by a season-high 14 blocks and a match-high 18 kills from freshman Addison Massey
K-State's (6-0) 14 blocks is the highest block production since October 5, 2024, vs. Iowa State.
Seven Wildcats contributed a block led by a match-leading five from Reese Resmer. The team hit at a .321 clip with 54 kills, with Massey and Skylar Brady combining for 31.
Massey has led the team in kills in all six matches this season.
Under Mansfield, K-State is 22-12 in nonconference matches, including a 9-1 record over the last 10 contests.

SCOUTING #20 CREIGHTON

The Bluejays were voted No. 20 in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Top 25 poll, marking the 82^nd consecutive week Creighton has been ranked.
Creighton is off to a 5-5 start to its 2026 campaign after dropping its last three contests and posting a 1-4 record in its last five.
Creighton is coming off a straight-set loss to No. 1 Nebraska Wednesday night, 25-13, 25-15, 25-19.
Trinity Shadd-Ceres tallies a team-high 127 kills, as the only player averaging over three kills per set (3.10).
Four players have over 20 blocks on the year, led by 55 from Eloise Brandewie.
Defensive specialist Saige Damrow spearheads the backrow with 178 total digs (4.34/set).
As a team, Creighton is hitting .164, tallying 11.8 kills per set to go along with 1.3 aces, 14.7 digs, and 2.6 blocks.
The Bluejays earned the Big East Conference title in 2025 with a perfect 16-0 record, while going 28-6 overall.
Creighton ended its 2025 campaign in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.

INSIDE THE SERIES

Friday's contest marks the first meeting marks the 15^th match between the two squads with K-State leading the all-time series 8-6.
K-State is 1-4 all-time on the road, that includes a 1-3 record in Omaha.
The two teams last met on Sept. 7, 2024, in Omaha with No. 11 Creighton sweeping the Cats, 25-17, 25-13, 25-13.

SCOUTING OMAHA

Omaha enters Saturday's contest 6-3 with a three-match winning streak after defeating Drake, 3-1, Tuesday night.
Five players contributed 10 or more kills against the Bulldogs, led by 13 apiece from Madi Corf and Faith Venable, who leads the team in total aces (11).
Lara Maric leads the offense in 2026, totaling 109 kills (3.30/set) and hitting at a .277 clip.
The Mavericks are hitting .239 as a team, paced by 354 assists (10.73/set) from setter Maddie Stuesser.
Kaite Schroetlin posts a team-leading 106 digs and averages 3.21 digs per set with seven reception errors (.955).
Omaha finished its 2025 campaign 10-16 overall with a 7-9 mark in Summit League action.

RECORD BREAKER

Fuka Sekita's 24 digs against CSUN (Sept. 4) set a school record for the most in a three-set match during the rally-scoring era, surpassing the previous mark of 23 set in 2007 and 2019.
Sekita also recorded her 400th career NCAA dig, reaching the milestone with her 14th dig of the night.

ROOKIE YEAR

Freshman Addison Massey totaled a team-leading 35 kills over eight sets in Week 3, averaging 4.38 kills and 5.50 points per set.
Both marks ranked sixth overall in the Big 12 during Week 3.
She recorded her fifth double-digit kill performance of the season with a season-high 18 kills in the weekend finale, hitting a season-best .577 with just three errors.
Massey now ranks fourth overall in the league and 16^th nationally in points per set (4.93) and eighth in kills per set (4.00).

SERVE IT UP

Emerson Van Lannen ranks second in the Big 12 and 13^th nationally in aces per set (0.71), while her 15 total aces are good for fourth in the league.
She finished second in the team in service aces in 2025 with 28, while leading the Cats with a .30 average.

IMMEDIATE IMPACT

With a roster that features eight newcomers, a first-year Wildcat and true freshman leads the team in kills (84), kills per set (4.00), points (103.5) and points per set (4.93).
Massey has led the team in kills in five of six matches – all 10-kill performances – that includes a season-high 18 at Nevada (Sept. 13).
In six matches, transfer Fuka Sekita has led the team in digs in five of those, including a record-breaking 24 (Sept. 4).
Three of the Cats' top five kill producers are freshman.
Freshmen middle blockers Reese Resmer and Ellah Derrer also sit atop the team leader boards.
Resmer posts a team-high 14 total blocks and 1.27 blocks per set, while Derrer has a team-leading .511 hitting percentage.

BIG 12 RANKINGS

K-State is one of just two undefeated teams left in the Big 12, alongside Colorado (8-0).
Offensively, the team sits fourth in assists per set (12.90) and kills per set (14.24), and fifth in aces per set (1.86), while the Cats' .268 team hitting percentage ranks seventh.
Individually, Massey is in the Top 10 in kills per set (4.00) and points per set (4.93).
Van Lannen is second in the league in aces per set (0.71) and fourth in total aces (15).
Sekita is seventh in the league in digs per set (3.90).

BIG 12 NOTES – WEEK 4

The Big 12 has six teams in the AVCA/TARAFLEX DI Coaches' Poll for the fourth consecutive week, the second most among all conferences.
Arizona State leads the Big 12 at No. 12, followed by TCU at No. 13, Colorado at No. 17, Baylor at No. 18, Kansas at No. 22 and BYU at No. 24.
Baylor's Ksenia Rakhmanchik (offensive), BYU's Kelli Jo Burgess (defensive) and Kansas' Reese Messer (setter) and Taylor Stanley (rookie) were recognized as the Big 12 Volleyball weekly award winners for the third week of the 2026 season.
The Big 12 is one of the two conferences to have multiple teams undefeated entering Week Four, as Colorado (8-0) and Kansas State (6-0) are two of the 11 remaining undefeated programs in the nation.
Seven Big 12 teams have dropped single digit sets through the first three weeks of the season.
