Evan Coachman

Hired in August 2015, Coachman enters his second season as the strength and conditioning coach with K-State baseball.
Coachman, who will also oversee the strength and conditioning for the Wildcat men’s and women’s golf programs, arrived at K-State after three years at Northwestern State. With the Demons, he served as the head strength and conditioning coach, working primarily with the football, baseball (alongside former K-State assistant coach and now Demon head coach, Lane Burroughs), volleyball and tennis programs.
Prior to Northwestern State, Coachman was a football and strength and conditioning coach for 17 months at his alma mater of Austin College, where he developed all-conference players at tight end and wide receiver as well as developed and managed the in-season workouts for the entire football team.
From 2009-12, he was also an assistant strength and conditioning coordinator for Athlete’s Performance Course in Allen, Texas, where he developed workout routines for baseball, softball, football and volleyball competitors ages 10-18, and ran workouts for up to 50 athletes simultaneously.
Coachman is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and by USA Weightlifting.
As a student-athlete at Austin College, Coachman played receiver and free safety, earning all-conference honors at receiver as a sophomore and then at free safety as a junior and senior. He was also elected to the team’s Leadership Council by his peers.
Coachman earned both a bachelor’s (history) and master’s (education) degree from Austin College as well as served as secretary and vice president of Phi Sigma Alpha fraternity.
