Three starts and 14 appearances during his redshirt senior season, posting a 0-1 record and 9.39 ERA (24 ER, 23.0 IP) ... Started at No. 4 South Carolina on February 23, allowing one hit and two earned runs with five strikeouts in a no decision as K-State upset the Gamecocks, 6-5 ... Matched a career high with eight strikeouts in three innings in a start vs. Omaha on March 15 ... Led team with 11.4 strikeouts per nine innings ... Appeared in six Big 12 games, allowing 11 earned runs in 8 1/3 innings with six walks and six strikeouts ... Opponents hit .286 against him during his senior season (career high) ... Finished the year 2-4 with a 4.13 ERA (28er, 61.0ip), 37 strikeouts, and 20 walks in 16 overall games (14 starts) ... Led the team in starts ... Career-highs in innings pitched, strikeouts, games and starts ... Made 6 “Friday Night” starts, including 5 series-opening starts in Big 12 play ... As a starter, he had a 4.67 ERA (28er, 54.0ip) with 31 strikeouts and 19 walks ... Only allowed more than 3 earned runs in just one of his 14 starts ... Pitched 5.0 or more innings in 4 of his 14 starts ... Tossed his only quality start of the season on April 10 vs. No. 3 TCU, holding the Horned Frogs to 3 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits over 6 2/3 innings to earn his first win of the season ... REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2014)
Posted a 3-1 record with a 4.30 ERA (11er, 23.0ip), 14 strikeouts, and 11 walks in 10 appearances (5 starts) ... Opened the season as a reliever before being moved into the midweek starter role ... Had a 9.95 ERA (7er, 6.1ip) in his first 5 appearances of the season, all as a reliever ... In his 5 starts, he was 3-0 with a 2.16 ERA (4er, 16.2ip), 11 strikeouts, and 8 walks ... Opponents hit .226 against in his starts ... His 2.16 ERA as a starter was the best among all K-State starting pitchers ... Did not allow a hit or a run while he struck out 4 in his first career start on March 19 vs. Air Force ... Held Nebraska to 2 runs, 1 earned, in 5.0 innings on March 26 to help him pick up the winning decision ... Surrendered 1 hit and no runs in a scheduled short start (2.0 IP) at Omaha on April 1 ... Struck out 3 and walked 3 in 5.0 innings on April 8 vs. Wichita State, picking up the win after also allowing 2 hits and 2 runs (1 ER) ... Threw 1.0+ inning in his final outing of the year on April 15 at Nebraska, allowing 4 hits and 2 runs, before being removed due to injury.
