CAREER: Played in 49 career games with 47 starts over his five-year career, which included one season at K-State... Finished his career ranked third nationally among active players and second among quarterbacks in rushing touchdowns (45) and total touchdowns scored, fifth in total offense (12,680), 13th in touchdowns responsible for (96), 14th in passing yards (9,752) and 15th in completions (788)... Set the Nebraska career records for total offense (10,792), completions (670), 300-yard total offense games (19), 400-yard total offense games (5) and 250-yard passing games (16)... The first player in Nebraska history with four 1,000-yard passing seasons... The first Nebraska quarterback and only the fourth in Big Ten history with four 500-yard rushing seasons... A four-year team captain as he was elected his final three seasons at Nebraska and during his lone season at K-State.
 
2022: Played in 10 games with nine starts – including starts in each of the first seven games of the year – until injuries hampered him during the second half of the season... Threw for 1,261 yards and six touchdowns with just one interception on 118-of-184 aim, while he rushed 111 times for 627 yards and 10 touchdowns... Earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention accolades from the league’s coaches, while he also picked up votes for the Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year award... Set the school record for lowest interception percentage in a season (0.54%)... Tied for eighth nationally in rushing touchdowns among quarterbacks, while he ranked fifth overall in the Big 12... Posted a season-high 329 passing yards against Texas, the third-highest total of his career and the most by a Wildcat since Skylar Thompson had 334 yards at Oklahoma in 2020... Had an 81-yard pass at Iowa State, 10th-longest pass in school history and the longest in his career... Rushed for a career high 171 yards against Texas Tech – the fifth most by a quarterback in a game in school history and the third most by a quarterback in the nation during the 2022 season – to go along with three rushing touchdowns... Had 148 rushing yards and four touchdowns the week prior at Oklahoma as his 148 yards were the fifth most by a quarterback in 2022 and his four rushing scores were the most... His four rushing touchdowns tied for the third most in a game in school history, while his 24 points scored tied for fourth... One of just three Power 5 quarterbacks over the last 15 seasons with 300 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns over a two-game span, joining Louisville’s Lamar Jackson (2016) and Auburn’s Cam Newton (2010)... Teamed with Deuce Vaughn (116 yards at Oklahoma, 170 yards against Texas Tech) to give K-State two 100-yard rushers in consecutive games for the first time in school history... They combined for 341 yards against Texas Tech, the second-highest double 100-yard rushing output in school history... The first K-State quarterback with consecutive 100-yard rushing games since Jesse Ertz in 2016, and it was the first time in his career he accomplished the feat... Had three rushes of 50 or more yards, one of just two Power 5 quarterbacks to tally at least three in 2022 (Riley Leonard, Duke)... Was the first K-State player with runs of at least 55 yards in consecutive games since James Johnson in 2007 (66 yards against Missouri and 67 yds at Fresno State) as he went 55 yards at Oklahoma and 69 yards against Texas Tech... Earned Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week and Manning Award Star of the Week honors following his performance at Oklahoma in which he accounted for 382 yards of total offense and five touchdowns... Led the Cats to 509 yards of total offense at Oklahoma, their most since the 2019 Bowling Green game (521 yards) and most in a Big 12 game since the 2014 Texas Tech game (535 yards)... Started K-State’s 2022 season opener, the first FBS transfer quarterback to start a season opener since Matt Miller in 1994 (Texas A&M)... Miller sat out the 1993 season due to NCAA transfer rules, making Martinez the first to transfer and start the next year’s season opener... Voted a team captain.
 
2021 AT NEBRASKA: Started each of the first 11 games of the year but missed the season finale due to injury... Picked up Honorable Mention All-Big Ten honor from the league’s coaches after throwing for 2,863 yards and 14 touchdowns on 189-of-306 aim, while he rushed for 525 yards and 13 touchdowns... Ranked fifth nationally in passing yards per completion (15.15), sixth in passing yards per attempt (9.36), 13th in total offense (308.0), 20th in passing yards per game (260.3), 24th – and third among quarterbacks – in rushing touchdowns (13) and 25th in points responsible for per game (14.9)... Set the school record for total offense per game, while he ranked fifth in Nebraska history in total offense (3,388), sixth in passing yards and ninth in completions... Totaled 343 yards of total offense at Illinois – outgaining the Illini by himself – as he threw for 232 yards and touchdown and rushed for 111 yards and another score... His contest at Illinois included a career-long run of 75 yards... Tied his career high with three passing touchdowns against Michigan, while he had a career-high three rushing touchdowns against Northwestern... Led the Huskers to 452 yards of offense – including 374 yards himself – at Wisconsin against a Badger team that ranked No. 1 in the nation in total defense at the time by allowing just 216.3 yards per game... On the watch lists for the Maxwell Award, Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and Manning Award, while he was a semifinalist for the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year... Also one of 10 finalists among all male athletes in the nation in every sport for the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar of the Year award.
 
2020 AT NEBRASKA: Saw action in seven games with six starts, throwing for 1,055 yards and four touchdowns on 108-of-151 aim... Also led the team with 521 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 91 attempts... Ranked second in the nation in rushing yards per game among all quarterbacks (74.4)... Set a school record for completion percentage (71.5), a mark that led the Big Ten and ranked fourth in the nation... His completion percentage also ranked fifth in Big Ten history... Went 18-of-20 (90.0%) at Iowa to set the school record for completion percentage in a game... Rushed for a career-best 157 yards and two scores at Rutgers... Had a career-high 23 rushing attempt against the Scarlett Knights... On the watch lists for the Maxwell Award and Manning Award... A First Team CoSIDA Academic All-District and Academic All-Big Ten performer.
 
2019 AT NEBRASKA: Started 10 of the Huskers’ 12 games, missing two due to injury, as he threw for 1,956 yards and 10 touchdowns on 149-of-251 aim, while rushing for 626 yards and seven touchdowns... Ranked third in the Big Ten by averaging 258.2 total offensive yards per game... Posted a career-high 446 yards of total offense at Illinois, the third-highest total in school history... It was already his fourth-career game with 400 yards of total offense, a school record he achieved in only 15 starts... That game included a season-high 328 passing yards with three touchdowns... On the watch lists for the Maxwell Trophy, Walter Camp Award, Davey O’Brien Award and Manning Award... An Academic All-Big Ten performer.
 
2018 AT NEBRASKA: Made 11 starts as a true freshman en route to Freshman All-America from the Football Writers Association of America and Honorable Mention All-Big Ten accolades from both the league’s coaches and media... Accumulated 2,617 passing yards and 17 touchdowns on 224-of-347 aim while also rushing for 629 yards and eight scores... Ranked 12th in the nation – and tops among freshmen – with  295.1 yards of total offense per game... Set the school record for 400-yard total offense games (3) and 300-yard total offense games (7), while he also broke the Nebraska freshman records for completions, completion percentage (64.6), passing yards, total offense (3,246), passing touchdowns and total touchdowns (25)... Earned National Freshman of the Week honors following the season opener at Colorado in which he accounted for 304 yards of offense... Was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week on three occasions – after the Minnesota (401 yards of total offense, 4 total TDs), Ohio State (338 yards of total offense, 3 total TDs) and Illinois (345 yards of total offense, 4 total TDs) games... Finished his freshman campaign by helping Nebraska rally from a 15-point deficit in the fourth quarter at Iowa, although the Huskers lost on a last-second field goal.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Clovis West under head coach George Petrissans... Rated the 98th-best prospect overall in the Class of 2018 by Rivals, while he was 103rd by ESPN and 139th by 247Sports... Rivals ranked him the seventh-best dual threat quarterback in the class, while he was viewed as the 11th-best overall prospect in the state of California by ESPN... Selected for the 2018 Under Amour High School All-America Game... Missed his senior season due to injury, but shined as a junior as he threw for 2,562 yards and 25 touchdowns on 220-pf-366 aim... Also threw for 1,462 yards and 14 touchdowns as a sophomore, while rushing for more than 900 yards.
 
PERSONAL: Adrian Martinez was born January 7, 2000... Son of Tony Martinez and Deanna Martinez and the stepson of Kristi Vincent... Earned his bachelor’s degree in management from Nebraska in May 2021 and is currently working on his MBA.
