Krystal Clarke

Krystal Clarke is in her second year as an academic counselor with the K-State Athletics’ Office of Student-Athlete Services. Clarke’s primary sports are women’s basketball, rowing and tennis.
In her first season working with the Wildcat women’s basketball program, K-State placed one student-athlete on the CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team, one on the CoSIDA Academic All-District VII team, seven on the Academic All-Big 12 teams and two on the Big 12 Academic All-Rookie squad.
In her role, Clarke advises student-athletes on major selections, academic priorities, NCAA eligibility and career opportunities at the conclusion of their playing careers. She also provides an assessment of academic skills and aids in the development of an academic plan.
Prior to her time in Manhattan, Clarke was the Assistant Director for Academic and Student-Athlete Services at Seattle University. She worked with nine sports and aided in the academic progress and planning for the 170 student-athletes under her mentorship.
Before working with the Redhawks, Clarke served as a Football Academic Intern/Learning Specialist in the University of Minnesota Lindahl Academic Center in the spring semester of 2019. She was assigned to work with 10-15 “at risk” student-athletes and aided in their academic skill development. She also developed daily, weekly and semester-long academic goals with individual student-athletes.
As part of the academic team, she helped the football program set its program record GPA of 3.17 including a cumulative GPA of 3.13.
Clarke earned her Masters of Science in Education with a concentration on Sport Administration from Akron in 2018. While at Akron, she served as an Athletic Academic Support Assistant and a Football Athletic Academic Support Intern.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Electronic Media/Broadcasting with a minor in Leadership Studies from Appalachian State in 2016. During her four years in Boone, N.C., Clarke competed on the Mountaineers women’s track and field team in the sprints and long jump.
