Wildcats, Cougars Kick Off Three-Game Series Friday

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State looks to claim its fourth consecutive weekend series as the College of Charleston visits Tointon Family Stadium for a three-game series beginning Friday, March 16 at 3 p.m.
K-State (10-6) and Charleston (13-5) are both 10-3 over their last 13 games.
The entire three-game series will be streamed live on the ESPN app and WatchESPN with live audio also streaming at k-statesports.com. Fans in the Manhattan area can also listen to action on KMAN (93.3 FM, 1350 AM).

Kansas State won its third consecutive weekend series with a 13-6 victory Sunday against the Mercer Bears ... Mercer, the SoCon's preseason favorite to win the conference, had won eight of nine before the weekend set in Manhattan ... In Friday's 12-3 series-opening win over the Bears, Drew Mount hit two grand slams and drove in eight runs while starter Kasey Ford struck out a career-high 10 batters over seven innings ... Mount became the first Wildcat to hit two grand slams in a game since 1994 and was the first to post an eight-RBI game since 2006 ... Ford has three wins and three quality outings in his last three starts ... In Sunday's rubber match, Will Brennan turned in his second straight four-hit game in helping clinch the series ... Mount became the first Wildcat to hit two grand slams in one game since 1994 and he is just the third player in Big 12 history to accomplish the feat - and the first since 1998 ... In K-State's 3-1 week, he put up 13 RBI to up his season total to 29, which leads not only the Big 12 but the country, as of Monday ... He leads the Big 12 in homers (7), RBI (29), slugging (.845), total bases (49) and stolen bases (12) ...
