MANHATTAN, Kansas – For their performances in K-State's season-finale win over the Big 12 preseason favorites, Texas Tech, freshman goalkeeper Peyton Pearson and senior forward Christina Baxter have each earned national team of the week honors from a pair of websites.

Pearson was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week, while Baxter was selected to the CollegeSoccerNews.com National Team of the Week.

With a shutout win in her first collegiate start, Pearson collected both Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week and Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors. Pearson was the first Wildcat netminder to earn Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week honors. She was the second K-State goalkeeper to earn Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors this season, joining Alaina Werremeyer's two citations.

Pearson made her career debut a memorable one, as she became the first K-State goalkeeper to win her collegiate debut with a 2-0 win. With the win, Pearson helped K-State secure consecutive wins in Big 12 play for the first time since joining the Big 12 in 2017.

The product of Tulsa, Oklahoma, registered nine saves on 28 total shots faced to secure her first shutout. The nine saves were a K-State season-high, the most by a Wildcat since September 26, 2019 and set the 2020 Big 12 season-high for saves by a freshman.

Baxter ended her collegiate career in style, scoring the game-winning goal in K-State win over the Red Raiders.

In her 63rd career match, Baxter gathered a free kick and carried possession to just outside Texas Tech's 18-yard box. Baxter teed up her shot and fired into the upper right corner to give K-State a 1-0 lead in the 36th minute.

The game-winner was Baxter's second career game-winning goal and her first since her freshman season. She ranks tied for second in program history for career game-winning goals.

The goal was Baxter's first of the season and first since September 12, 2019, when she scored against Gonzaga. The goal was the fourth of Baxter's career. She is the fourth K-State player to score at least one goal in all four seasons of her Wildcat career. Baxter ranks tied for fifth for career goals with four and is tied for sixth for career points with 10.

K-State capped its Big 12-only schedule with a record of 3-6-0. This marked the most wins in league play since the program started as a member of the Big 12 in 2017.

The Wildcats, winners of three of their final five matches, also clinched a seventh-place finish in the league standings which marked its highest finish in the league standings.
