Entz Named to Pair of National Teams of the Week

MANHATTAN, Kansas – K-State midfielder Brookelynn Entz has been named to two National Teams of the Week by TopDrawerSoccer.com and CollegeSoccerNews.com for her play at Iowa State last Friday.
Entz registered a pair of goals and helped K-State end a 14-game Big 12 road losing streak with a 2-0 win at Iowa State on Friday. With her two goals, Entz tied her own school record for goals in a season with five and set the school record for goals in Big 12 play with five.
The senior from Newton, Kansas, scored her first goal in the 52nd minute with a 1v1 opportunity with the keeper after being played onside on a long ball from Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week Shae Turner.
In the 78th minute, Entz completed her brace. Entz gathered a long pass and carried the ball into the 18-yard box. She stopped on a dime, causing the first Iowa State defender to fall down. She maneuvered around a second defender then fired with her left foot from 16 yards through the fingers of the goalkeeper.
This was the third career multi-goal game for Entz, with her last multi-goal game coming against Iowa State at Buser Family Park on October 11, 2019. She is the only player in program history to have two or more multi-goal games to her credit.
The goals by Entz were the 14th and 15th of her career, improving her school career record. She improved her school record for career game-winning goals with four. She also boosted her school record for career points to 37. She also set the school record for points scored in a Big 12 season and points by a senior with 10.
This season, Entz leads K-State with five goals and 10 total points. She ranks second in the Big 12 in total points, points per game (1.43), goals and goals per game (0.71).
K-State will close out the fall 2020 season with its first-ever match in the month of November. The Wildcats will host Texas Tech at Buser Family Park on Friday, November 13, at 6 p.m. Friday's match will be Senior Night, as the Wildcats will honor its seven seniors in a post-match ceremony.
