MANHATTAN, Kansas – Two-time All-Big 12 selection and K-State's all-time leading scorer Brookelynn Entz has decided to return for the 2021 K-State soccer season.

"I couldn't be more excited to spend one more year at the place that's done everything for me," said Entz about rejoining the Wildcats for one additional season. "I just can't walk away from this program, my team, and my coaches. Although I could have moved on to play professionally, the opportunity to continue to build this growing program was something I couldn't pass up.

"An extra year also allows me to develop my game even more to be prepared for my professional career. This season we made huge strides in the right direction and I want to keep making history, keep breaking records, keep putting K-State soccer on the map. We have some unfinished business, and it's time to take care of it."

The product of Newton, Kansas, owns or is tied for 28 career, single-season or single match school records including career goals scored (15), career assists (7), total career points (37) and goals in a single-season (5, twice).

During the 2020 season, Entz was named to the All-Big 12 First Team by tying her school record for goals in a season and set a new school record for goals in Big 12 action with five. Entz tied for second in the Big 12 and ranked 13th in the nation for goals scored. She ranked second in the league and 12th in the nation for goals per game (0.63).

"There is so much value to having Brookelynn back for another year," said K-State head coach Mike Dibbini. "Her experience will be extremely valuable as we build off the momentum from the second half of the 2020 fall season. Her leadership on and off the field will allow our young players to understudy. Her ability to have a masters degree to fall back on is also massive for her. We are extremely excited to have her back for 2021."

She ranked third in the Big 12 and 34th in the nation in points and third in the league and 20th in the nation for points per game (10; 1.25).

She tied her school record for goals in a match with two, which included her fourth career game-winning goal, at Iowa State on October 30. She recorded at least one goal in two of K-State's three wins in the 2020 season.

Entz has also been outstanding in the classroom, as she is a three-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection and was named the 2020 Big 12 Soccer co-Scholar Athlete of the Year.

K-State capped its Big 12-only schedule with a record of 3-6-0. This marked the most wins in league play since the program started as a member of the Big 12 in 2017.

The Wildcats, winners of three of their final five matches, also clinched a seventh-place finish in the league standings which marked its highest finish in the league standings since joining the Big 12 as a soccer member in 2017.
