K-State Earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

MANHATTAN, Kansas – For the third time in the six-year history of the program, K-State soccer garnered the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for its performance in the classroom during the 2020-21 academic year.
 
United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.

College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.

During the 2020-21 academic year, K-State registered a team grade point average of 3.58 and had 15 combined selections for the Academic All-Big 12 First and Second Teams. The Wildcats also tied the program high with six student-athletes collecting Big 12 Academic All-Rookie Team honors. K-State also collected its first Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year, as Brookelynn Entz earned the honor.

Of the seven Big 12 programs to earn the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, K-State ranked fifth in the league based on team GPA.

K-State closes out the weekend on Sunday, as the Wildcats travel to Lubbock, Texas, to face Texas Tech. Match time is set for 1 p.m. Sunday's match can be viewed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
