Steve Miller Invitational Marks Final Meet Before Big 12’s
Feb 17, 2022 | Track & Field
MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State track and field team will return to the Ahearn Field House on Friday (February 18) for the Steve Miller Invitational. The meet will mark the final event of the season before the Wildcats head to Ames, Iowa for the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships.
The women's weight throw will kick off the day at 3 p.m. CT. Track events will be contested on a rolling schedule beginning at 4 p.m. CT with the women's mile run.
"We have always done this meet at home the week before conference purposely so that we do not have to travel," stated Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Cliff Rovelto. "Many of our conference team will not be competing this weekend. We have some who are competing who we feel need another competitive effort before conference. There are some who will compete that are coming off an injury."
After competing in seven meets so far this season, K-State finds themselves with 14 nationally-ranked individuals in the Top-50 and one nationally ranked relay squad.
