Wildcats will compete together for the first time in the fall
The K-State women's tennis team is on the road again, traveling to the ITA Central Regional Championship starting on Wednesday (Oct. 9) in Memphis, Tenn., at Leftwich Tennis Center.
Singles competition is set to begin at 9 a.m. CT on Wednesday with familiar competition in the Central Region, including Arkansas, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Oklahoma, Tulsa, Wichita State and others.
Competing in the tournament last year, senior Veronika Kulhava advanced to the main draw round of 16 while the Wildcats gained lots of experience in multiple matches over four days.
Seven members of the Wildcats team will compete, with four Wildcats— Kulhava, sophomore Maralgoo Chogsomjav and juniors Sana Garakani and Maria Santos, having a quick turnaround as they competed in two days of the SMU Invitational on Oct. 4-5, earning 7 singles wins as a group.
Sophomores Charlotte Keitel, Zali Morris and Tereza Polakova are set to play for the first time since Sept. 20-22. Morris competed in singles and doubles matches in the K-State Invitational to start the season, while Keitel and Polakova were accepted to the ITA All-American Championship where they both earned singles wins.
