
K-State Faces #8 Tennessee, #10 Clemson in Midweek Action

MANHATTAN, Kan. – In the final tune-up before conference play, K-State hits the road to take on #8 Tennessee at Lindsey Nelson Stadium at 5 p.m. CT Tuesday before facing #10 Clemson at Doug Kingsmore Stadium Wednesday at 3 p.m. CT.
Tuesday's contest against Tennessee marks the first series meeting between the Vols and Wildcats while Wednesday's matchup against Clemson is the first since Feb. 14, 1999. Clemson leads the all-time series 3-1, including three wins in South Carolina, as the Tigers claimed a 11-3 victory in the final meeting.
Redshirt-junior Brady Day was rewarded Monday with Big 12 Player of the Week honors, the Conference office announced. Day, who received the weekly award for the first time in his respective career, slashed .667/.750/1.333 to lead a Wildcats offense that outscored UMass Lowell 37-5 in the series sweep.
Left-hander Owen Boerema (1-0) will get the start against Tennessee while Wednesday's starter will be announced at a later date.
