
Schedule Updates to 2024 Ward Haylett Invitational

The Invitational is now set for one full day of events on Friday starting at 12 p.m.
MANHATTAN, Kan. – The K-State track and field teams have made schedule adjustments to the annual Ward Haylett Invitational, now set for a full day of events on Friday (April 26) at R.V. Christian Track. Senior recognition will now start at 3 p.m.
The men's and women's hammer throw events will be contested on Thursday afternoon, in Wichita, Kan., at Wichita State's Cessna Stadium at 3:30 p.m.
On Friday the field events are still set to begin at 12 p.m. with the women's discus throw, the track events at 5:30 p.m., now with the women's 5,000 meters.
The Wildcats last competed in the four-day Mt SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. on April 17-20. 17 athletes competed in elite events, including the men's and women's 4x400 relay. The men's relay team, freshman Nen Matlock and seniors Kyle Gale, Jaimie Omalla and Eugene Omalla, finished 4th with a time of 3:04.42. E. Omalla also ran in the elite 400 meters where he finished 5th in 45.80 seconds, no. 6 in the K-State outdoor all-time top-10.
Senior Kade McCall, currently no. 10 in the NCAA Division I men's hammer throw, competed in the elite event with a 7th place distance of 70.17m/230-2. In the collegiate women's hammer throw, junior Monique Hardy won her third consecutive event with a distance of 62.96m/206-6. Senior Andrew White finished 3rd in the men's discus with a throw of 56.99m/186-11, landing him at no. 8 in the K-State records.
