Wildcats Host Drake in Doubleheader to Start Dual Matches

First match against the Bulldogs starts at 10 a.m., the second tentatively at 2 p.m.
The K-State women's tennis team begins the first of three consecutive home matches on Saturday (Jan. 25) hosting the Drake Bulldogs in a doubleheader starting at 10 a.m. at Body First Tennis Center.

The first of two matches will begin at 10 a.m., the second match tentatively set to start at 2 p.m.

The Wildcats are 3-0 against Drake in Manhattan, previously playing last season with a 6-1 decision.

K-State started the spring in Indian Wells, Calif., for the Duel in the Desert, playing for individual results against Iowa State, Arkansas and Kansas.

As a team, the Cats went 12-8 in singles matches, 4-5 in doubles matches, with sophomores Maralgoo Chogsomjav and Charlotte Keitel winning two as a pair against the Cyclones and Razorbacks.

Senior Veronika Kulhava and junior Maria Santos both went 3-0 in singles matches, with a combined 3-0 record in three set matches.

The Wildcats will host one match each the next two weekends, against Wichita State on February 1 at 12 p.m. and Kentucky on February 9 at 10 a.m.
