Myers Records 800th Kill, No. 20 Baylor Fends Off K-State

Oct 15, 2025 | Volleyball

WACO, Texas – After a commanding second-set victory, the Wildcats came up short in sets three and four, as K-State fell 3-1 to No. 20 Baylor at the Ferrell Center, 23-25, 25-17, 22-25, 26-28.

Shaylee Myers added 15 kills, while setter Ava LeGrand dished out 40 assists to go with 14 digs for her seventh double-double of the season. She capped her performance with four service aces, four kills and four blocks.

With her 15 kills, Myers reached a new career milestone, as the Lincoln, Nebraska product tallied her 800th career kill. Now with 806 career kills and 10 matches left of the regular season, she is 108 short of cracking the top-10 leaderboard in career kills during the rally-scoring era.

FROM THE CATS
JASON MANSFIELD, K-STATE HEAD COACH
Overall comments …
"We battled tonight and did what we had to do to compete on the road against a top-25 team, we just needed to make a couple more plays in the first and fourth sets to win the match. Credit to Baylor for making those plays, especially on defense, they dug a lot of balls and won most of the long rallies. We are so close to being the team we want to be, I saw a lot of moments tonight where there is real improvement in areas we've been working on. I feel like we're getting better and that's a good feeling."
