Cats Return to Big 12 Play, Face BYU in Provo

MANHATTAN, Kan. – With just nine games left of the regular season, K-State heads into a crucial weekend road series and faces BYU, starting Thursday at 7:30 p.m. CT at Miller Park in Provo, Utah.

Game two between the Wildcats (26-19, 12-9 Big 12) and Cougars (21-21, 6-15 Big 12) is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, while Saturday's series finale is slated for a 2:30 p.m. first pitch.


The entire Big 12 three-game series will broadcast on ESPN+, while radio coverage is available on KMAN with Matt Walters calling all the action. A live streaming audio is also available at K-StateSports.com/watch and on the K-State Sports app.

A LOOK AT K-STATE
K-State (26-19, 12-9 Big 12) looks to bounce back and pick up its first road victory since April 2, after the Cats dropped a heartbreaker on Tuesday night … Cornhuskers Gabe Swansen hit a three-run double in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Nebraska a 7-6 walk-off victory over the Cats …  In the game, K-State stranded nine baserunners and was 2-for-15 with runners in scoring position … Reliever Ty Ruhl (2-2) was tagged for the loss after loading the bases in the ninth inning, giving up two hits with a strikeout in his 1/3 innings … Starter Tanner Duke logged five innings of one-run (unearned) ball, surrendering two hits with three strikeouts, while reliever Adam Arther fired 2 2/3 scoreless innings ... The lefty retired six of the seven batters he faced, without allowing a hit … First baseman David Bishop paced the offense, going 2-for-4, while Sam Flores drove in three RBI.
