Wildcats Open 2025 Season Friday at K-State Invitational

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State volleyball opens the 2025 season Friday night at the K- State Invitational, as the Wildcats welcome UMBC and Delaware to Morgan Family Arena for the three-day event.  Â
K-State, who opens the season at home for the first time under third-year head coach Jason Mansfield, will begin its campaign Friday against the Retrievers at 6:30 p.m. The weekend concludes Sunday at 1 p.m. against Delaware.

The team retains eight letterwinners from the 2024 squad, including blocks leader Brenna Schmidt, who tied 10th in the league last season with a 1.04 blocks per set average. Other key returners include Symone Sims, Jordyn Williams, Aniya Clinton and Shaylee Myers. Clinton was named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team, marking the fifth consecutive year a Wildcat garnered the preseason honor. Â
Both matches will broadcast on ESPN+ and the ESPN app with Brian Smoller and Liz Wegner-Busch calling all the action, along with sideline reporter Sophie Smith. - UMBC, who capped the 2024 season 8-16 overall with a 6-4 mark in conference play, enters its fourth season under head coach Kasey Crider.
