CAREER: A career 24-game starter at tight end who was a major factor as a blocker in the running game throughout his career... A three-time Academic All-Big 12 pick, including the final two years of his career in which he was nominated with a 4.0 GPA.
2019: Played in all 13 games with 11 starts... Made one catch for seven yards in K-State’s win over No. 5 Oklahoma... A contributor to the Wildcats’ blocking unit that helped K-State average 178.0 rushing yards per game to rank fourth in the Big 12... Helped pave the way for 29 rushing touchdowns in 2019, the third most in the Big 12... A First Team Academic All-Big 12 pick, one of a Big 12-best four Wildcats to be nominated with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
2018: Played in all 12 games with starts in each of the final 11 contests... Registered eight catches for 69 yards, the most catches by a Wildcat tight end since 2014... Set career highs with two receptions for 24 yards and a long of 15 yards against Texas Tech... Helped the Wildcats finish third in the Big 12 by averaging 182.6 rushing yards per game, which included a 184.2-yard average in conference games to rank second... An honorable mention all-state selection by the Topeka Capital-Journal and Wichita Eagle after recording 300 receiving yards and seven touchdowns... Earned all-metro honors as a senior from the Kansas City Star, while he was a first team all-league pick... Also an all-state basketball player who averaged 15 points and nine rebounds per game, helping the Jaguars earn third place at the state tournament.
PERSONAL: Blaise Robert Gammon was born October 9, 1996, in New Orleans, Louisiana... Son of Kendall and Leslie Gammon... Father, Kendall, was a Pro Bowl long snapper who played 15 seasons in the NFL, including the final seven with the Kansas City Chiefs... Kendall is an analyst for the Chiefs Radio Network... Earned his bachelor’s degree in finance in December 2018 and is currently pursuing his MBA.
